Sure thing. I'm going to try to at least get the ping list built tomorrow during lunch. Thanks! :-)

I love Ikea because I love putting cheap crap together with Elmer's and screws :)

To be fair; a few items I bought at the VA Ikea twenty years ago... well, lasted longer than expected.

IKEA is Swedish!!!

"Carlsberg and Tuborg. I'm seeking those out on my next beer run."

And coming from you, Sam Adams, that's a big compliment!

Tried to buy Danish today, but all I could find was blue cheese (which hubby likes, but not me). I guess I too will have to pick up some Danish beer.

And, btw, isn't Ikea Swedish? If it's Danish I'd really have to say they've gotten enough of my money for one year. : )

i too have decided to buy something Danish at every turn in the road...in fact, i ate a nice Danish Ham sandwich lastnight with Danish-made cheese (delicious!), i wasn't hungry but more out of spite for mooslim insanity! Those folks will reap what they sow (as we all will) and they are SSOOOOO not gonna like what grows in their garden!

Oooh....Danish ham!? Great...thanks a LOT. Now I have to work HERE all day and relish the thought! :-)

You ought to pick one up next time you come over, or we'll buy one, and we'll scarf it and post a photo of us pig eating rednecks enjoying ourselves, supporting Denmark, and scorning mooslims. :-)

Ishmael didn't think this one through very well. In fact, the Missus made a great observation about all the flag burning, embassy burning, protesting, and beating. She observed that this is only happening where they have sympathetic governments, or where they simply know they can get away with it.

So the question begs asking....WHY do YOU think they don't get away with it freely here in America? I think I know, but I'd like you hear your thoughts.

Legos are cool. I like them too. I built airplanes, helicopters, and spaceships.

This could be a FReeper field trip this summer-

http://www.aalborg-tourist.dk/page208.aspx?layout=1

US Independence day
Rebild/Aalborg, Denmark

Every July 4 since 1912, except for the two world wars, large crowds have gathered in the heather-covered hills of Rebild in Jutland, Denmark to celebrate US Independence Day.

The site of the celebration is the beautiful Rebild National Park (20 kilometers south of Aalborg), presented to the Danish nation by Danish-Americans in 1912.

The Festival is an expression of gratitude to the land which welcomed more than 300,000 Danish immigrants, and the tradition has been maintained in order to strengthen the ties of friendship between the USA and Denmark.

Over the years, hundreds of thousands of Danish-Americans and others have joined with Danes in this celebration.

The Stars and Stripes of USA and the Danish Dannebrog flag are flown side-by-side in a natural amphitheater in the hills of Rebild. Music, entertainment, community singing and speeches by prominent Americans and Danes are expressions of the bonds which unite the USA with Denmark.

Among others, Rebild speakers have included members of the Danish royal
family and the former presidents of the United States of America, George Bush, Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon.

Not far away, in the festive city of Aalborg, there is an extensive program of events, lasting several days, including concerts, exhibitions, conducted tours and other events of special interest to American visitors.

Good and reasonably priced hotel accommodations are available, Denmark is famous for its food and Aalborg is famous for its festive atmosphere. And remember that if you are flying to Copenhagen, it is possible in most cases to extend your journey to Aalborg at no extra cost. Ask at the airline office or your travel agent when booking!

I built a ping list for this thread and YOU are on it. If you want off, please let me know. I won't be offended. I promise not to bombard you with messages. I know we've all got enough to keep track of!

I'm going to TRY to get a Danish product list up on www.webuydanish.rc4systems.net ASAP. Realistically, it will probably be this weekend by the time I get it built. I'm a little busy during the week.

To: hiredhand; All

Thank you for your efforts...please leave me ON the ping list.

I am waiting to see how the Danes react to the "controversy" over the soccer match with Israel before deciding to buy any more Danish products. If the Danes diss Israel (for the usual pro-Arab and anti-Semitic reasons), I see no reason to support their cause with my meager income.

For those who don't know what I am talking about, here is a relevant thread that discusses the proposed boycott of a soccer match in Israel: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1572996/posts?page=55

A Danish lad here... I would just like to say that I and many danes deeply appreciate your fantastic support.

I am a member of Conservativ Youth (a group which supports George Bush's policy in Iraq among other things), and my favourite newspaper is the "Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten", which in the good old days supported the Danish Conservative Party; today the newspaper is independent, however a right-wing one! The newspaper is very sober and serious, and the reason for publishing the cartoons was for the fact, that the journalists knew, that muslims would complain about and so on... They are a bunch of f*** wankers... (Sorry for my british - just been in London for several months... ;))

Here is some nice conservativ propaganda:
