Personally, I think you could squeeze all the proclaimed hard core socialists, et al, into a VW or telephone booth. The last thing they want to do is take center stage in American politics. They are not only content in the shadows, but their Gramsciish/Fabian tactics have been extremely successful. Their host body (mostly the dem party) are the ones getting sliced and diced on the front lines -- while their agenda rolls on unimpeded -- slowly but surely.
But then, that's how I see it.

Mad as you are, remember. Those Democrats didn't nominate Alito, Bush did. Those Democrats didn't coach Alito on how to dissemble his way through congress. It isn't those Democrats pushing for Unlimited Executive Power.
Remember, in the end, this is Bush's fault. We must stop turning our fire on ourselves every time we loose. (As a matter of fact, I'm mostly mad at Obama for using this as a reason to publicly flay Democratic failings, instead of highlighting Bush's.)

you left off where 17 of our own decided to roll over and show their collective belly and say "please, don't hurt us anymore! we'll do whatever you ask, just stop being mean to us!" unfortunately one of my own senators was among that spineless group (nelson of fl).
you are correct when you say this is bush's fault, but you left out the part where he had some not insignificant help from so-called dems. all i ask of my representatives in washington is that they fight like a mother cat defending her kittens for our beliefs. if they can't live up to that standard then primary them and run someone who will.
Putting a yellow ribbon on your car is literally the least you can do. Put your money where your mouth is and enlist or shut up.
