I bet I could instantly derail a lot of the hard left opposed to Alito by stopping their rant in mid-sentence and asking 'Can you tell me exactly WHY you were opposed to Alito for the US Supreme Court? What in your view specifically disqualifies Alito?'.

I'd expect to see blinking, faraway states, detect an uncomfortable pause, and finally receive a stammering sputtering reply about how when Alito was at Princeton, someone might have written something that was offensive to someone else... they think. Maybe. Something like that.

... Oh, and BUSH WANTS ALITO!!!

Yes, I do believe that the left wing is well-represented by the very Democrats they today claim to detest.

Rebels without a cause.

Well the JurassicPork blog at least tries to narrowly define it more:

"The 4 Amendment means nothing to Alito because he once agreed that a cop could kill an unarmed thief who was trying to run away."

Didn't convince me...and anyone who knows how I write on FR...can be sure that, if the liberals had anyone with brains on their side, I may have been convinced there was a problem (if Alito were pro-tobacco for instance).

Actually, Alito just may have ruled once in favor of tobacco companies...but the abject failure of the liberal blogosphere or the Democrats or the MSM to get that across to me...tells me to keep a wide berth from them as people and not vote for them.
