Republican Challenger to Senator Chaffe (Major Rino-RI)
Laffey for US Senate ^
Posted on 01/30/2006 11:24:26 AM PST by MNJohnnie
I have seen a number of posts asking about who is challenging RINO in Chief Senator Chaffe in the Republican Primary. This is the Website I was directed to. Suggest anyone as angry as I, about Chaffe's utterly disgraceful comments in rationalizing his betryal of the party to side with the Democrats on Alito help spread the word. Chaffe's seat is NOT safe and after today's fiasco he should be out of the party,

Seems to have a strong background in finances. We could use a few more of them in the Senate. (Yes, I realize he faces a difficult task if he wins the primary.)

Senator Chaffey?
Use Gold Bond, and the rash will go away eventually.

Only Republicans that can be elected in North-East are RINOs.
The value they bring is the control of power for GOP.
Also he did say he would NOT vote for fillibuster.
If you do not understand why some NE Republicans have to vote this way then I suggest you find somthing better to do with your time.
Politics is not your "thing".
To: MNJohnnie
No *real* Republican could be elected in RI.It's at least as left wing as Massachusetts.

Politics is not your "thing".
Actually looking at the room temperature intellect displayed in your writings, it is blatantly obvious I know a LOT more about politics then you do. As noted to you before, suggest you change your name to "The_Democrat" since you are continually posting on the side of the Democrats, NOT the Republicans.
As even the most elementary school level education in politics would tell you, it does NO good for the party to waste money and resources on a candidate who votes 99.5% of the time with the opposition party. It is a politically idiotic mindset that thinks it is a GOOD idea to be in charge of the Senate if the Senate does NOTHING but kill the Conservative Agenda. Electing RINOS like Chaffe does ONE thing. It makes SURE OUR PARTY gets all of the blame for being in charge while getting NO credit because NOTHING gets done.
Chaffe's comments today are a prime example. IF it was just a matter of sucking up to his voters, he could of just quietly voted against Alito. He did not do that. Instead, he went out and gave a tremendous PR boost to the DNC Talking Points. That is actively working AGAINST his team.
Simply being in charge for the sake of being in charge is STUPID. It makes NO sense to elect "Republicans" who do NOTHING but work feverishly to advance the Democrat agenda. I suggest you wander back to Democrat Underground now, your pseudo intellectual facade has been pierced The_Democrat.

"Only Republicans that can be elected in North-East are RINOs."
May I suggest that you change your screen name to "The_RINO." Or was that taken?
Do you know who is the current governor of Rhode Island? A pro-life moderate-to-conservative Republican by the name of Don Carcieri, who was elected with 55% in 2002 and will coast to reelection this year (no prominent Democrat wants to take him on). Mayor Stephen Laffey, who is running against ultraliberal RINO Lincoln Chafee in the GOP Senate primary, is actually a bit less conservative than Governor Carcieri, although he is also pro-life and a moderate-to-conservative Republican.
Of yeah, and for the past decade one of Rhode Island's two House seats has been held by a pro-life Democrat (first Bob Weygand, then Jim Langevin), and the other House seat is held by Ted Kennedy's idiot son Patrick, and even Patrick Kennedy has proven to be less pro-abortion than Lincoln Chafee (Patrick Kennedy voted for the partial-birth abortion ban, while Lincoln Chafee voted against banning that gruesome procedure).
For information of why it hurts the GOP to have Lincoln Chafee pretend to be a Republican, see

I can't claim any expertise on Minnesota politics but I think that Coleman was very lucky to win.If Wellstone hadn't died or if the democRATS hadn't staged that filthy, slimy "memorial" for him,Coleman would have lost. The democRATS gave that one away,IMO.
I know something about RI politics.I often to listen to/watch Providence TV/radio stations.RI is blue, blue, blue,BLUE!
Take my word for it.

"I can't claim any expertise on Minnesota politics but I think that Coleman was very lucky to win."
Yeah, conservative Republican Senator Norm Coleman was "lucky to win" in 2002. And so was conservative Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty in 2002. And conservative Republican Congressmen Mark Kennedy and John Kline were "lucky" to beat Democrat incumbents in 2000 and 2002, respectively. And conservative Republican President Bush was also "lucky" to come within only 3.5% of carrying Minnesota in 2004 (Kerry won the state 51.1%-47.6%). And conservative Republican Congressman Mark Kennedy will be "lucky" when he wins the open Senate seat later this year. It's uncanny how "lucky" those conservative Republicans are in Minnesota. Their victories could have nothing to do with the fact that Minnesota is a pro-life state and the Democrats keep nominating pro-abortion candidates, right? (The RATs are a bit smarter in House races, and 2 of the state's 4 Democrat Representatives are pro-life, Collin Peterson and Jim Oberstar.)

Would seem the Candidate in RI shares NONE of the fears of the arm chair "experts" like "The_Democrat" here does about his ability to win by actually BEING a Republican.

MAYOR LAFFEY UNSURPRISED BY CHAFEES LACK OF LEADERSHIP
Mayor Laffey lamented Senator Chafees announcement this morning that he will vote to oppose Judge Alitos nomination in the Senate and cited the Senators announcement as further proof of Senator Chafees extremist positions.
It has been almost a week since the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to send Judge Alitos nomination to the full Senate. Almost all Republican Senators have announced their positions, and numerous moderate Democrats have come out in favor of the nomination. Senator Chafees indecision and now, his opposition, leaves one to wonder what his true intentions are. Snip.......

Yeah Losing Chaffe would be a good thing.
So smart.
McDonad's must be a proud organization to have you as their employee.

I cannot decide which is more amusing, your rabid ignorance of all things political or your excessive arrogance in assuming your obvious mental incompetence on all things politics represents a "superior" understanding. You are what is know as an Energetic/Stupid personality.

To: The_Republican
HAAAAA! Yeah well The_Democrat, your sort of arm chair "political expert" said the exact same things about a Social Conservative named Norm Coleman and the "liberal" voters of Minnesota. You call him Senator Norm Coleman now.
So I suggest you face the reality of just what a gross incompetent you are when it comes to political analysis. Really amusing to watch you, a compete politically ignorant fool, be so rabidly aggressive at demonstrating your utter political ignorance. Nice you have feelings The_Democrat. Such a pity your feelings are so completely divorced from even a nodding acquaintance with reality.

If I ever said anything about Norm Coleman, its in support.
He probably failed the 'conservative-test' for people with puny mind like yours.
To: The_Republican
Well The_Democrat. Interesting to see how desperately afraid you are of this challenger. What the matter. Afraid one of your tame RINOS might just get knocked off and a REAL Republic take the Seat thus moving your Democrat party even FARTHER into perpetual minority status? Face it The_Democrat, your party is dying. You have lost the Congress, you have lost the White House and, you are losing the Court. Justice Stevens was born in April 1920. GW Bush will be President until Jan 2009. You do the math, The_Democrat.
