Hard to be impressed by the shellacking of one semi-pro (NFC) team by another. The Starbucks have played one serious AFC game, their opener, which they LOST. I doubt very much they could have beaten ANY of the AFC teams in this year's playoffs under playoff conditions. And don't try to tell me they beat Indy in some lay-down game. In fact Seattle squeaked passed the Tennessee Tuxedos. Yeah, that's an impressive team.

Have another mocha latte with whatever psychoactive ingredients you've been drinking. Seattle Starbucks? Please.

Hopefully G.W.Bush has alerted the muslim heads of state that any use of WMD's on US territory will trigger a nuclear response against their holy cities of mecca and medina. Muslim heads of state pull the strings (i.e., are the puppeteers) of international terrorism.

What I find more scary is the idea of someone taking a Learjet or other similar civilian aircraft packing it full of explosives and crashing it into a stadium. Usually these types of small planes need not file a flight plan and even if they do it would only take a couple of minutes to leave your flight plan and go on a suicide mission.

I honestly think there is no way to stop this kind of terror act even if we wanted to.

Justa to let you know that Starbucks owns the Seattle Sonics BB team which hasn't won a championship since 1979 and since Starbucks owned them ... the HAWKS are owned by Allen of Microsoft fame .... heck, he could buy off the Steelers if they could figure out how much five dollars would buy ...

Best to the best team .... should be a great game. Dad's got friends coming over (former Marines) should be interesting ....

there is a thread that mentions NORAD having done extensive practice air operations over detroit and windsor a few days ago. I read yesterday that it will be repeated again on Feb 1 they said that weather wasn't good enough the first time. but who knows if more isn't going on. there are helicopters, fighter jets, cessna planes, refueling aircraft, they're trying to downplay it as normal security but it sure sounds like it is more than previous superbowls. i wonder if they aren't sweeping the area for nuclear devices? only speculation

Christopher Brown, who in the past has briefed Department of Defense, State Department, CIA, National Security Council and the White House, noted each Zawahiri video is part of a pair. And after the 2nd part is released, historically, it was followed within thirty days by a major terrorist attack.

The videos released on Sept. 9 and Nov. 9, 2004, were the first "set" and were followed by the Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, bombings on Dec. 6, 2004.

The second "set" of videos was released Feb. 20 and June 26, 2005, followed by the July 7 London bombings. A third set of videos was released Aug. 4 and Sept 1, 2005, followed by the bombings in Bali, Indonesia, on Oct. 1, 2005.

The fourth set of videos, according to Brown's theory was released on Oct. 23, 2005 and last week -- Jan. 6.

"This pattern has held for at least three of al Qaeda's last large-scale attacks," said Brown, "This most recent video is likely a signal that a large-scale operation is about to be launched within the next 30 days. The question is where."
