OK, new thread for the next week.
First, a big shout out to the SETI and BOINC members who have added CPUs to the effort. Remember, its Team 36120, NOT Team 0.
Next, congrats to all for bumping our team up to 384 processors and 192 user names. We have a number of new users in the team, with nearly a dozen folders now from GetLoaded.com all popping onto the hit list this week.
Special mention to Klutz Dohanger, who has quietly volunteered 80 systems to fold. That is 20% of all of the Free Republic Folders systems actively engaged in research. He is on a pace to pop 100,000 points personally before the end of January.
Malsua, uriah, Ken in Texas and Andrewksu are solidly in the top 10. Malsua is continuing to add (fast) systems and is now the number two folder on the team. Andrewksu will be the next member to hit 10,000 points. Great job!
Free Republic Folding@Home Stats Page
On the global front, Free Republic Folders is now listed at # 624. We are poised to overtake (today):
Flowers of Happiness (awww, ain’t that sweet)
SpongeZone
Team Redneck Beatdown
Go Navy!
French-Krew
and the Rochester Institute of Technology
As we continue to grow there are a number of milestones coming around the bend:
Top 600 by Monday
Top 500 within eight days
Top 400 within three weeks
We have 430,000 points so far. We will reach:
500,000 points by Thursday
750,000 points by Jan 24
1,000,000 points in early February
Thanks again to all that are helping us advance science and promote the peaceful use of computers.
Extreme Overclockers Stats for Free Republic
Man, my first WU was 500 frames and it paid off 600+ points. The last three days in a row I folded 500 frame WUs that only paid 46 points each. Yuk!
How often are you saving results? I save every 3 minutes, so in case of a power outage, I'll lose 3 minutes work at most.
NVA's first work unit finally completed. Stats don't show up yet but I'm pleased to see the Tribute to RR graphic up at the team's page. At 30+ minutes per frame I don't think I'll be setting any records.
Criminy, I finished a WU and it downloaded the next one - I know it takes about 10 minutes for the estimate of how long it will take to be accurate, but the first 'guesstimate' is over 9100 DAYS!!
OK, it locked up and I had to restart, now it's estimating at 259 days - it will be interesting to see how much time for 133 points...

You're on the board now :)

Your 600lb gorilla is back on track. A couple of multi-thousand point updates today, so we'll get back on the upward curve again.
Word of caution, if you have machines that you leave unattended for long periods of time, ie (days), it's best to either use the console version (which will launch automatically after a power failure and reboot), and not require logging in, or use FAHmon to periodically monitor their progress.
I lost 35 machines worth of folding, for about 48 hours over the weekend due to a power failure, and they were all sitting there begging me to log them in, so the GUI client could launch, and start work.
I've lost a few cpu's, because I've had to dial back from running multiple instances on some servers (it was affecting performance, like e-mail), but made up for it by adding another 16 workstations today, and will add another 32 tommorrow.
Those pukes at DU still think that they have a shot at catching us... NO WAY!!!!!
We're outfolding them about 8:1, and with the new Klutzoids online, and all the new members on the team, we'll be increasing our margin to about 15:1 by next weekend.
I smell a million points by the first of February, which would put us at around 400th place.... :)
Yeah, I had a couple sitting at the multiboot selection when MS patched that WMF flaw the other day.
I added in 2 more machines in the past couple days. If you're the gorilla I'm a couple howler monkies :).
Default is 15 minutes (and I don't know how to change it anyway), but it started the whole thing over from frame 1. :(
Take that DUmmies (hope ya'll read this, LOL)
My GUI version starts on reboot, not sure why yours wouldn't.
It would, if I had only a single user on each machine, in which case, it logs in the default user, but I have a student user, a teacher user, and a tech user on each computer, plus a Novell Login, which halts any start up processes.
C'mon bobo, pull a cpu out, Freepers got jobs, this is the only way for us dummies to get more.

For a bunch of fools who live and die by poll numbers, they sure the **ll aren't very good at looking at relative statistics, now are they?
You clock up in a single day, by yourself, what their entire team does.. and they're CATCHING UP???
oops, meant to say, 1/2 of their total team points, but still... they're CATCHING UP??
