It’s become clear from the active shuttle-like movement of the rival parties and mediators that the intensity of the political crisis began to subside compared to how things looked like a week ago. In spite of the violence that disturbed Baghdad this morning, the rival parties resumed their meetings and talks with some politicians playing the role of mediators; the most prominent of whom is President Talabani and even in the two main competing camps we’re hearing moderate voices emerge to propose solutions like the Virtue Party from the UIA and al-Mutlaq from Maram.

I really think folks should go to the site who do not view it on regular basis and see what this independent Iraqi who has been following his nations elective process has to say.

One may see a rather different view of the situation they may have still imprinted in their minds due to some Reuters,AP,UK Guardian and other MSM reporting.

Key points. Most all key players are looking at horse trading and bargaining to achieve a national concenses on forming a National Government. Quite the opposite of all the early doomsdayers in preaching a soon to be seen bloody civil war, or Irainian influenced Shia take over. But you decide for yourselves.

Yikes, we are talking about political parties that have militias. This is a process.

Of course. Militias are the norm. But notice the point is they are coming around to the idea no militia will be tolerated in the future. There new constitution will forbid any new militia from being formed. So as parties re-align that currently are driven by any particular religious group, or say a tribal group under a given shiek, the original milita may simply disband because it will no longer be paying allegance to the original top dog. At any rate, I see in this particular reporting a lot more give and take then flaming hot heads screaming for a full out civil war.
