And when can we expect the Red Crescent to abandon
their religious symbol?
Oh right...when they stop using ambulances to deliver terrorists and bombs to battles.

I'm offended. But I only give to the Salvation Army and directly to hospitals.

This makes Christ's work much easier. Judgment is upon them and they know it not...

I assumed that this was a parody.
But then... I found this on Wikipedia: "The Red Crystal is the new politically and religiously neutral emblem approved by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. This emblem clears a hurdle for the Israeli humanitarian society, the Magen David Adom, to join the International Committee of the Red Cross. Known as Protocol III, the amendment to the Geneva Conventions relating to the Adoption of an Additional Distinctive Emblem was adopted on 8 December 2005 and authorizes the use of the Red Crystal for use by national societies."

you are correct about the strong-arming. Not everyone is capable of standing up to it.
Maybe someone should post a list of WORTHWHILE orgs to give to. Boy scouts, for example!

I thought the only change was to the red star of david so they changed it to a diamond so they could be accepted into the red cross, am I wrong?

And when can we expect the Red Crescent to abandon their religious symbol? Oh right...when they stop using ambulances to deliver terrorists and bombs to battles. They (the Muslims) do not even know or care what "politically correct" is. In this they are wiser than the "civilized West."

I always thought it was a red plus sign, what's the big deal?

A lot of people ,including myself dont give toi the red Cross now, Salvation Army is a much better charity, However I predict a lot more will stop giving when they start calling themselves the Red Crystal.
To: PietroA
It looks a lot like the maritime signal flag for the letter "F".
Which stands for...?

Officially, it's only the Red Cross who is switching its symbol. But there's probably a more comprehensive plan. Globalization means this too.

Each country has it's legends. Lucky are those that can be authenticated. Paul Revere, Nathan Hale and others. Sometimes a legend becomes bigger than the man- in this case,Arnold of Winkelried.
It was a the Battle of Sempach 1387. Yes, the cruel forces of Austria threatened Switzerland. Morale in those days more than often, carried the day.
Legend has it that as the Swiss quailed at the sight of the Austrian spearmen, Arnold stepped forward. He threw himself on the spearmen and hacked his man down. Then impaled and dying,he called his countrymen forward.
It was a Swiss victory that day. Just to recount the story told by an English School Marm many years ago- a bunch of kids listened spellbound.
