I like to discuss topics with anyone, whether they are Democrats or Republicans. I dont really consider myself a Liberal or Conservative, but somewhere in between.
So I subscribed to DU to discuss things with them as well. You need to know all aspect of different people in order to really grasp our society and the way it works.
I entered a discussion forum about the National sales tax on DU.
I disagreed with much of what they were saying and made my points both positive and negative. They are mostly against the idea by the way, but thought I could clear some of their miss-information that many where saying.
I got banned, I guess for not toting the line.
I will give this forum credit where credit is due.
I have disagreed with people on here many times, but have never been banned for not thinking like everyone else.
I will always hold on to my individuality and stand by what I say. I can be wrong sometimes no doubt, and I will admit it when I am. But to be banned for disagreeing over something is beyond my comprehension.
I have my criticism of the web site sometimes but it is far better the DU.
Thanks for hearing my rant.
Free speech to Marxists is nothing more than repeating the party line. Not really free. Democrats are astoundingly close to that.
You're too rational for DU, FRiend.
They only allow howl-at-the-moon leftists and butt-bandits there.
Don't feel bad. I got banned there too.
They did not object when I said that Theo Van Gogh unfortunately died because he refused to accept the reality of diversity but, when I said I wished Hugo Chavez and Theresa Heinz Kerry could get married, I think they caught on.
DU is the electronic version of monkeys throwing feces.
Abortion - Liberals want abortion on demand at any age without parental notification
Gun Rights - Liberals want to outlaw and confiscate all guns
Military - Liberals hate our military
Free Speech - Liberals prefer only their speech, ask John O'neil of the Swift Boat vets or any conservative who has tried to give a speech on a college campus.
Taxes -- Liberals think your income should be the governments to redistribute.
Homosexuality - Liberals think they're born that way, Conservatives think it is a lifestyle choice.
Patriotism - Liberal thinks being patriotic only applies if a democrat is in office, if not then more power to the enemy.
That's the short list.
See my tag line about taxes and where the government spends our tax dollars. You'd better reply to some posts, or you will be ZOTTED here as well.
Just kidding!
It's funny how the group who cries for tolerance is the most intolerant. It just goes to show, they're really not smart, just clever with words.
I tried to go back and get the link but couldn't find it.
I registered on DU last November or December and I still haven't been outed as a troll. I mostly post "Bush's Fault" to everything but they think I'm being series.
One tote over the line, as it were.
""I moderate is someone without core beliefs!""
Wrong you are there, my problem my be that I am too firm in my beliefs.
"""If, as you say, you don't know if you are a liberal or a conservative I don't think you will find any place comfortable except the middle of the highway. If you are looking for information on which to make up your mind then you are more than welcome here."""
I never said that I don't know if I am a liberal or a conservative. I know that I fall somewhere in between but probably a little more on the conservative side.
Things in life don't fall into on or the other. You have to make up your own mind as issues come up.
I'm not surprised. Here, the only people I see get banned are the ones who are disruptive jerks. On DU you get banned for disagreeing. I guess their fragile egos can't handle a little dissent.
But if a newbie shows up and starts posting some liberal crap, the Viking Kitties will make them feel the Wrath of ZOT in a heartbeat.
Nonsense. A moderate just is not buying to the ideology on the left or right but is firmly rooted in the real world. A lot of the far right and left are so consumed by ideology, they can not see the reality that stares them in the face. The reality is people do not live by ideology alone. They are complex and often throw ideology out the window in their attempt to muddle through a complex and imperfect world.
"""I registered on DU last November or December and I still haven't been outed as a troll. I mostly post "Bush's Fault" to everything but they think I'm being series."""
they think I'm serious
Now that's funny
