Something to think about..sometimes a gem of hard truth in unearthed in a lot of drivel and verbiage. I remember watching the panel late one sleepless night (because C-span is better than any sleeping pill) and I heard those words clearly. Probably because Carson has a fairly srhril, whiney, and annoying voice, that it penetrated. I wrote them down. I think it's one of the smartest political truisims of this century, and one that the Dems in Congress are hell-bent on ignoring.
He said that those liberal dems who came of age during the Vietnam era protests, the 1968 convention, and the McGovern campaign, are now firmly in control of the national Dem party, especially the fund raising apparatus, and that until they have all died off, the Democrat party will never be able to win a national campaign (i.e, the White House) because national security will always be the overwhelming question for the voters at the ballot box, and those Dems are not trusted by the voters to protect the country.
And it is going to cost them big time..What we are hearing now is the political "noise" from the Dems in Congress, magnified by the MSM ad nauseum.
But remember that when a hurricane, like a high tide, is at its worst, it also means that the worst is behind you..
This is the final death rattle for the Democrat party in its present form. WE are going to hold the House and Senate in 2006, indeed, record small gains in both chambers, and the left/lib Dems, crying that they lost becuase their leaders didn't attach Bush hard enough, will force a McGovern like candidate in 2008. And the resounding defeat to come will fracture the Democrat party.
So, fight them hard, everywhere, but be of good cheer..far more is going the RIGHT WAY. After 2008 the national Dem party will not be recognizable in its present context.
FYI..my take for today...
Carson was a fraud -- tide turned when he told Cong Sullivan that he only drove a beat-up pick-up truck with a gun rack during an election year for the NASCAR vote. GOA went after Carson big time even when the NRA played dead here in OK.
Oklahoma hasn't voted for a RAT for President since LBJ -- unlike some states folks here learned their lesson. :)
Carson tried to run like he was the conservative in the race and it came across as phoney. Grassroots defeated Carson and elected Coburn. Kerry made no difference IMHO here in OK as even the Dems ran away from him. What the RATs lost here were the votes they got from cockfighting in 2002 that elected Gov sleeps a lot -- those people will NEVER vote again -- talk about one issue -- cockfighting was definitely one issue.
