MSNBC cancels Connected Coast to Coast, Entertainment shows:

From: Kaplan, Rick (NBC Universal, MSNBC)
Sent: Tuesday, November 15, 2005 1:57 PM
To: @MSNBC Everyone
Subject: ANNOUNCEMENT

I wanted to share with all of you some news about a realignment of our dayside coverage. Beginning after the first of the year, we are going to increase our live news coverage on the weekends. With the addition of our new program with Connie Chung and Maury Povich, we will be in live or topical news programming from 8am until 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. This more than doubles our current live weekend programming! In order to accomplish this, we will be shifting some resources in the coming month. After a year of great programs, "Connected: Coast to Coast" will have it's final telecast on Friday, December 9. I'm very proud of this program and the work of Ron, Monica and Sharon Newman and their entire team. They brought smart coverage and internet reporting to cable news and set a very high standard of coverage. As for the future of that time slot we'll have some exciting new programming at noon which we'll be announcing soon. The weekend of December 17th will mark the final airings of MSNBC at the Movies and MSNBC Entertainment Hot List. I want to thank Sharon Tay, Scott Leon and his team for all their hard work on the program over the last year. They did a terrific job and we should all be very proud of what they accomplished.

Monica used to be a contributor to FNC. She got a better offer from MSNBC.

She's got great TV presence and I hope she gets a chance on another station without a dead weight as a partner.

MSNBC should have let Ron go and allowed Monica to go solo. How Imus keeps that job is beyond me. What a cut-throat business.

The agenda trumps all I guess. Monica made too much sense and also made unRon seem idiotic.

If anyone should go it's Matthews. He's in need of drug rehab, IMO.

That is what email is for.

Yeah, those are great shows - you learn about heredity, statistics, psychology, and other stuff.

I bet you enjoy Springer, too, just like me! LOL

I'm surprised this show lasted that long .. if you go to tvnewser.com they show the ratings collpase even in the beginning. What's sad is that the show that was on before Connected took the 12pm slot had higher ratings .. and that was just anchors at a desk yabbing away the same news every 15 minutes!

In all honesty this show deserved to be canned .. Ron Reagan is no Reagan, he is an embarassment to the family. Heck, Michael Reagan is more of a blood Reagan than Ronny boy. May Ron Reagan Sr. finally RIP.

I'd have the intern
tell Imus the pink slip news.
"Good morning, Brett, run

over to Imus
and tell him his sorry ass
is fired and he must

clear his desk by noon."
Then I'd watch it go down on
security cams . . .

I was wondering HOW LONG it'd take to get rid of that creepy ugly Ron R. (In my books...he's a Davis...no way that little creep is a Reagan. He shows NO virtues whatsoever of his GREAT FATHER.)

Thanking The Lord for the Reagan Revolution!!!!!!!!!
