"Leave a Cart" campaign at Wal-Mart (BARF ALERT, PINKO ANTI-CAPITALISTS)

Activists in Fairbanks, Alaska are engaging in a little Saul Alinsky type organizing. To show their true feelings about Wal-Mart, Fairbanks residents are going to shop at Wal-Mart-—but instead of picking something up, they’re leaving something behind. While other activists have taken up the idea of just pushing around an empty cart at Wal-Mart, in Alaska they’re filling those carts up with merchandise. Here’s their report: “A modification of the 'shop 'till you drop' action is to not push around empty carts, but to stuff them full of hard-to-reshelve items and then simply leave the cart in the aisle. This is an action that we are planning to do this Saturday, and have a huge action on November 25th. But, quite simply, this is something that anyone can do at anytime all over the country at any big box store. It costs the stores to pay their employees to put those items back. The carts will jam up the aisles and maybe there'll be a shortage of available carts for consumers.

These anti-capitalist pigs are going around filling shopping carts with food and merchandise at Wal-Marts, then abandoning their carts so that employees will have to restock everything and perishable food will spoil. They think this is a good way to protest against big box stores like Wal-Mart. The sheer wastefulness of it disgusts me, and my heart goes out to the working folks in the blue vests who will have to spend all their time cleaning up after these animals. I hate leftists with an intense, burning passion.

That's the day after Thanksgiving, they are going to have a hard time to get any carts that day from all the real shoppers since the poor little leftists don't wake up until noon!!!!

Exactly- it's the floor personel who have to put all this stuff back on the shelves- the working stiffs.

If these cretins want to protest? Just don't shop there- go to a competitor.

Wow, that'll show those Wal-Mart people! /s

Hopefully these idiots can be identified by the security cameras and denied future store visits.

This is a Joke.

I live in Fairbanks Alaska a city of 33,000 -- the people here love walmart -- because this store has greatly lowered the cost of living -- they have lowered prices on items as much as 30%.

Business is so brisk that walmart is going to covert the store to a super walmart next year.

So what is this protest 5-10 UAF students are going to push around an empty cart for an hour or so?

They had BIG WAR PROTESTS here a month or so ago -- that consisted of 5-10 protestors on the two street corners across from Ft. Wainwright They were cold and looked very drepressed as I passed by them a few times that day while running errands.

This is nothing less than economic terrorism, economic sabotage, malicious trespass and vandalism.

Hope Wal-Mart throws the book at them.

I just remarked to my wife that what always astounds me about the gaggle of "activists" and "protesters" over on the Left is their childish vindictiveness. For all their high-flown ( or is that "fly-blown?" ) words about "caring" and "making a difference" they are certainly callous towards the grunts on the ground who will have to empty their overloaded, abandoned carts.

I just got off the phone with out local Fairbanks Walmart and it seems that a manager went to UAF yesterday and sat in the meeting where this was planned and -- they have been discussing what they will do in response throughout the day.

Perhaps this is why bush is attempting to open all of south america in free trade so that we have a source of low prices other than china.

I'm glad to hear they're on top of it. I'd like to see some people get arrested. Tactics like this have the stink of union thugs all over 'em.

News for ya, FReepers...

This has all the markings of an attempt to start a trend -and it just may work for the leftist trash who hate all things successful in America. They have no focus, no goals and no plan. This is PERFECT for the bums because it requires almost NO effort or skill.

But, there is a counter to it.

If you do go to Walmart, just keep an eye on this happening, follow the bums out and get their license plate #s. If the bums don't have cars, tell security about it and point out the bums to them.

This is a crime, people. They're messing with private property; it belongs to Walmart until it's sold by Walmart.

A lot of businesses have photos of shoplifters available to their security teams. They could do something similar with this.

Sickos are sickos are sickos, nuff said. Why not target Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream parlors in retaliation? Because we are not sickos.

Mom is a Wal-Mart greeter and they all have to stay late and "zone" the store to put everything away before they can go home at night. I hope these children are really happy knowing that somebody's 78 year old mother is having to clean up after their tantrum.
