What is Veterans Day? ...
it is a "holiday observed annually in the United States in honor of all those, living and dead, who served with the U.S. armed forces. Unlike Memorial Day, which honors those who have died in wartime, Veterans Day honors all those who have served, in times of peace as well as in war. "
So today, Rightfielder Blog honors all of our Veterans- those who were received well when they returned home, (as in WW1 and WW2) and those who were not (as in Vietnam). We especially honor those who have served in Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. May God bless them all and return them safely to their families.
Even though Veterans day is to honor all members of the U.S. armed forces, I would like to offer the readers to trackback to three earlier articles written, in honor of young men who gave their lives serving our country in Iraq. The stories are very in depth with lots of personal details.
