Should have a contingency plan for Massachusettes, as well

Why the heck is this in the public domain, if true? I would like to know who the traitor on the House Armed Services Committee is.

Is this supposed to be newsworthy?

I don't mean to be glib, but there are probably hundreds if not thousands of scenarios that have been gamed by those whose job it is to determine how to handle situations.

I am sure we have gamed an invasion of Mexico, Canada, Venezuela, Cuba, Panama; Berkeley (oops sorry) China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, darned near any country you can think of, and certainly every country in the Mideast.

Why would anyone be surprised or shocked?

Fast reaction would be key.

There would be no support for a build-up, nor the ridiculous game of show that we've practiced for many years with the U.N.

Military planners making contingency plans? I'm shocked!

We probably have plans on what to do if Quebec declared Independence and Canada asks us for aid.

Conquering SA should take all of 24 hours, perhaps a bit longer should we decide to TURN MECCA INTO A PARKING LOT along the way.....

I think it's just a bit of forward thinking. Who knows who you will have to fight in a few years down the road? At least the intelligence isn't starting flat footed this way.

Heck, I bet we have contigency plans for an invasion of Canada (I would humbly suggest invading the "French part" first)

Is this post calculated to generate hissy fits from the permanently clueless?

I can't think of another reason otherwise to post this.

If - in a measured and deliberate way - we start a major program building coal-to-oil conversion infrastructure - then after a few years we would become self-sufficient in oil at $30s a barrel level. After that whatever happens in places like Saudi Arabia would be a matter of extreme irrelevance. And we might have the necessary time window because SA is not going to collapse in a coup tomorrow. Of course, contingency planning never hurts.

Sorry, Esther Ruth, I hope I didn't sound like I was being disrespectful there.

From the "About us..." at the website:

If it is allowed to discuss the concept of contingency plans, as well as details, they become rather worthless.
Further, discussing them with anyone who has no clue why contingency plans are necessary is a waste of time.

So why this post?
