Over 2,000 Protesters Call, Write PBS over Anti-Father Film Breaking the Silence
Within the first 48 hours of our new campaign, over 2,000 people called or wrote PBS to protest their anti-father film Breaking the Silence: Children's Stories. The film, which aired on some PBS affiliates on October 20 and will air on many others in the coming weeks, is a direct assault on fatherhood. The film portrays fathers as batterers and child molesters who steal children from their mothers.

This is a worth while thing for folks to get invoved in.
Did anybody see this yet?
The local review made it sound like it was mainly critical of the courts.
The whole 'breaking the silence' thing reeks of sensationalist feminism. The vast majority of Dads are just that; Dads. Good ones too.
Demand that Congress defund and defang PBS.
The liberal anti-God left would like nothing more than break up the family unit.
there was something on this posted on FR a few days ago
I haven't seen it. But the real culprit is no-fault divorce. It creates a false sense of moral equivalence between lying, cheating spouses and the ones who try to uphold the marriage. The injustice of having to bend over backwards to accommodate the demands of the cheating spouse and his/her new partner when the the dumpee and the children have just been offloaded leads to terrible acrimony.
The courts then make it worse by punishing the "wronged" spouse for bringing up "fault" in a "no-fault" divorce, spending ten minutes from the bench making a snap judgment about the one who must raise the kids on a paltry $200 support award, or fork them over to the cheater and new honey.
The entire thing gets decided based on who has the most money to pay lawyers to destroy the other spouse, and it usually ain't the one who spent time on raising the kids.
Yes, this situation is developing.
Wait, wait, wait a sec. If it is painting all fathers with the same brush that's one thing, but if it is addressing a real problem, even one that affects a minority of children, why is that bad? I haven't seen it, but it sounds possible that it's not actually "anti-father," just anti- bad father." No?
PBS is going to air a radical feminist documentary about evil fathers - ..... The film portrays fathers as batterers and child molesters who steal children from their mothers.
Any who are still responding to the PBS begathons with contributions should stop immediately!

NO !
I just hope people actually watch the documentary before firing off about it. I know, PBS is just so...predictable. Still, I'll hold off on nasty-grams to the network until I've actually watched it and judged for myself.
I haven't yet seen the flick, but I'll wager it doesn't condemn the runaway non-Dads but rather seeks to paint all Dads with a perverted brush.
The whole 'breaking the silence' thing reeks of sensationalist feminism.

Yes, pretty much right out of the NOW playbook. Nothing new from these women who are so jealous they are not men!
Don't bother asking that question. I asked it on another thread a half hour ago and got no response. The posse has mounted up and rode out of town.
I have read the filmmakers' defense of the program, and I know the issue well enough to know they are full of crap.
That's not to say that you should protest it, though. But if you know New York NOW, then you KNOW this documentary.
As much as I hate to admit it, they have a point! Fathers aren't important. Look to the black community. 80% of those kids are born out of wedlock and most of 'em have absentee fathers. The kids are doing great! They do well in school, make lots of money, and do a great job staying out of jail.
Thanks Newt; you had 'em by the throat but you wouldn't close your fist.
I guess I'm like Gulliani; I don't forget.
I hope to God that youo've got your asbestos suit ready, your going to need it. You can't be that honest around here.
