Not Minnesota, not Michigan, not Wisconsin, not Maine, not Vermont, not New Hampshire, not Conneticut, not Massachusets, not New York, not Pennsylvania, not Delaware, not DC, not Illinois, not California, not Oregon, not Washington, not Maryland, not Hawaii.
Not one electoral vote from the land of Pundits and Bloggers except for Virginia's 13 electoral votes.
I suggest that Coulter, Lowry, Kristol, Krauthammer, Ingraham, Fund, J-Pod and the rest first do their jobs in their home states and/or the states of their youths. HELP GET A DAMN PRESIDENT ELECTED, then complain.
We don't want to hear another talk show host out of New York or DC claim that they got Bush elected. Maybe you energized the troops out here but we did the work. You reside in the land of zero, nada, nothing - no Electoral College votes.
This SCOTUS arguement is treating the rest of the Republicans thoughout the country who actually provied electoral college votes for The President the same way the Dems and the news media did after the 2004 election. Hicks, hayseeds, Jesus freaks, rednecks, NASCAR fools......
Many people in the states that actually provided Electoral College votes are at some level of support or at least wait and see over this nomination. The polls say so. Check MSNBC and Drudge.

Amen. Conservatives aren't supposed to let them be swayed by false victimizations. We aren't supposed to tear out our hair worrying about some Lilliputian whining about isms and quotas. To have the Bushes flinging crap at their own supporters is quite aggravating.
The thing is, we can't afford a "miss" here, the stakes are too high. More decisions like that recently negating property rights will completely mutate our country into something that would be unrecognizable to our Founding Fathers. A "swing" vote, another Justice O'Connor, isn't enough to turn the tide. We need a 'genuine article' conservative jurist.
If your state didnt' vote for Bush, apparently you have no business commenting on what GWB does!
If a few farmers and storekeepers can write a constitution, why can't a "lawyer" who hasn't achieved an elitist level interpret it?

I, actually, have found several reasonable threads on this today. Not that everyone agreed, but for the most part, there were actual "discussions".
Though don't expect them to be touting that fact anytime in the immediate future.
This nomination-regardless of what you think of Harriet Miers as an individual-is awful in every respect.
She'll be confirmed-with a miracle she won't-but that doesn't mean I have to sit here and be silent.

I voted for him, and I am glad I did.
Nobody is perfect, but he has been much better than most.

I'm with you there. We in "The Base" elected Bush in great measure because we trust his character and judgment. Frankly, I don't know Harriet Miers from squat, so I'm going to have to trust W on this one. He's the one we elected to make these nominations. Unless people are willing to say they made a horrible mistake in voting to re-elect Bush, people should stifle it.

I voted for him twice, and still would against Gore or Kerry. But as a voting citizen I still have a right, and an obligation, to let him know when I am dissatisfied and why.

Bush cutting your taxes and keeping you alive through the WOT are the most important things he could have done for you and provide benefits that are ongoing both to the economy and the security of the nation. We start sounding like liberals when we expect a president to do much more beyond lowering taxes and securing the nation. And I say this as someone pissed about the high spending and lax border control, so don't come back at me with "But don't you care about..." Yes I do care about those things, but I also recognize the important things Bush has done for this nation.
