December 7, 1941 - Attack on Pearl Harbor- result, men and women forming lines around the blocks outside the recruiting stations, including some of Hollywood's finest. There was: Gas rationing Food rationing Victory gardens Stars out selling Government Bonds Everyone collecting scrap iron Women with very baby fine hair (such as my mother) having their hair cut so it could be made into sights for the dropping on bombs on the enemy. Movies supporting the troops, the President, and the country and trying to lift people's spirits. America, Great Britain, countries all over the world united to fight against a common cause, Hitler trying to create the 'perfect Aryan race' and committing genocide. All sacrificed and the war was won.
Sept. 11, 2001- Attack on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and the aborted attack on Washington by the brave heroes of flight '93- result, the country was united for a short time until partisan politics took over. Some of our brave young men and women volunteered to defend this great nation and perhaps make the ultimate sacrifice. The press questioned if the 'instant gratification' generation could stand a war.
A lot of them proved the press wrong. They VOLUNTEERED. They are still VOLUNTEERING and REENLISTING.
Results Partisan Politics The Media, Hollywood, and the professional protestors hit the streets; they have a CAUSE again. They line up outside hospitals where the wounded are recovering and hurl insults at them, further torturing them, while the Media concentates on Abu Grab and Guantanamo Bay.
The Media reports everything negative, out and out lies, and does the work of the terrorists for them.
Folks get up and say things that are out and out treason and the press will cover it, but anyone supporting the soldiers and the war are, at best, worth maybe 30 seconds coverage.
The same people who say your child is a a 'thinking person' at 5 and cannot have his or her fanny swatted, who say it's OK for your 12 or 13 year old daughter can get an abortion without our knowledge or consent, say that at age 18, they are BABIES and cannot make an intelligent decision to enlist in our military, and actually stop them outside recruiting stations and try to talk them out of defending this country.
People whine and moan about the price of gas, the stock market, and all we hear is gimmee Gimmee GIMMEE, the GOVERNMENT OWES ME!!!!!!!!!
When we were attacked on 9/11, the country worried about the wrong people.
Our young people are stepping up to the plate and I'm PROUD of them. And any one of you who say, "I support the troops but not the war" are hypocrites! Because there IS NO DRAFT!!!! They volunteered to do this job, which means THEY SUPPORT THE WAR!!!!! So, if you really support them, then do it honestly! LET THEM KNOW! LET THE PRESS KNOW UNTIL IT HAS TO LISTEN!
One last thing, if you agree with these protestors and ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, FoxNews, the newspapers, you have the right to your opininon, but I have the right to my opinions and I say this:
Every innocent Iraqi man woman or child that is killed by terrorists (there are no insurgents, but TERRORISTS), their blood is on YOUR HANDS!
Every single soldier who is killed or wounded, their blood is on YOUR HANDS!!!!!
Live with it if you can.

The reality is this world does revolve around the land of the free. The USA. Even your hero Josef Stalin was nearly kaput. Without FDR propping up Stalin's version of a socialist utopia, they would speak German too. Too bad General MacArthur was fired by sissy Truman, for MacArthur recognized evil. And because of Truman's leadership failure, our troops remain in Korea today. Where's that Korean exit plan?
Furthermore, without the wealth stolen from Soviet occupied countries, and Stalin's mass murders rivaling the evil of Hitler’s Third Reich, the USSR would have failed during Ike's administration.

I speak of those who have enlisted since 9/11. Yes, they did choose. Mine chose even after the WMD's had been snuck out of Iraq and into Syria and Iran (thanks to the corruption at the UN).

I understand, hon, but first and formost, I am a Christian, so I must think before answering. I could think of a LOT of ways of answering what was presented to me, but if I'm going to truely 'walk the walk', I can't return hatred with hate.
If I was truely 'walking the walk,' I would not be of the world, but even Jesus himself spoke out at times, so I trust He understands.
A bit of trivia; most of the big battles in the Old Testament occurred in or around Babylon, which is in modern day Iraq.

I know of some who disagree, also. The ones in the military I know who disagree went into the military either as 'weekend warriors' for the extra pay and benefits with no idea they'd ever be called to defend their country, or those who enlisted in the regular military for the education, benefits, etc, and again, not expecting to have to actually serve. Very foolish, but when you sign up, you are obligated to serve when called.
Great rant, but wasted.
These people believe they can snow the American people with saying they support our troops while simultaneously wishing they fail in their mission. We troops are not dumb. We see through that nonsense easier than we see through the windscreens of our up-armored vehicles.
