Sexual Behavior and Selected Health Measures: Men and Women 15–44 Years of Age, United States

... Three percent of males 15-44 years of age have had oral or anal sex with another male in the last 12 months (1.8 million). Four percent of females had a sexual experience with another female in the last 12 months (tables A and B).

The proportion who had same-sex contact in their lifetimes was 6 percent for males and (using a different question) 11 percent for females (figure 5).

About 1 percent of men and 3 percent of women 15-44 years of age have had both male and female sexual partners in the last 12 months (table B).

And it makes me wonder how much of that "same-sex contact" is accounted for by molestation.

... or other abnormal circumstance.

Clearly, the prevalence of male homosexuality has been exaggerated by the post-Kinsey activists. That this is not in the headlines is telling.

Just as importantly is that while female homsexuality has increased, according to this study, it is 1) well less than the Kinsey exaggerations of male homosexuality; and 2) more likely in affirmation of male heterosexuality than of female homosexuality. Andrea Dworkin ought to be saddened by this headline [sic].

Add to this that the survey is self-selecting - people who do not want to discuss their sex life with a total stranger won't.

Which means that all the respondents are people who are willing to discuss their sexual activity on record - people who are this revealing about their private habits tend to be more deviant in their sexual activity than, say, the born-again Christian grandmother who hung up on this phonecall or threw away this survey.

This survey most likely overrepresents the numbers.

I will also observe that many women parktake in homosexual activity for work. I would assume that pretty much every prostitute or stripper in the US has been offered money to engage in such acts, which are popular viewing among a subset of heterosexual males. Drunken coeds are also routinely urged to do such things.

On the other hand, very, very few straight men will do the same for money.

Factor in that the female respondents to such a survey probably are much more likely to work in the sex industry and the numerical difference is more understandable.
