This past weekend, Minister Louis Farrakhan held a National Town Hall Meeting in Houston, Texas to encourage the evacuees and discuss measures to be taken in Hurricane Katrina's aftermath.
Farrakhan was joined by the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network president Ben Chavis, Jim Jones, Erykah Badu and other Black leaders at the meeting. Victims of the hurricane were bussed to the meeting from the Houston's Astrodome, the Reliant Center and other shelters in the city. The victims were given the chance to tell their stories and address their worries during the meeting.
"I say to the President of the United States and to the members of Congress, you cannot destroy the cities and towns of other people in the Nations and not expect the laws of justice to return to you what you give. Jesus said, 'as a man seweth, the same shall he also reap.'"
Near the end of his speech, the minister quoted from the Quaran and stated that progress cannot be accomplished without going through trials or experiencing loss. Likening their struggle to biblical Job who saw his family, possessions and wealth destroyed, the minister promised the evacuees that their future would be brighter than their past.
You had post 19.
See my tagline...:)
Now THERE'S a credible name!
"I say to the President of the United States and to the members of Congress, you cannot destroy the cities and towns of other people in the Nations and not expect the laws of justice to return to you what you give.
Uh ... did the President of the United States destroy the cities and the towns of other people in the Nations? Or did a hurricane? You might want to check on that, Farra-con.
Jesus said, 'as a man seweth, the same shall he also reap.'"
No, He never said that. What he said was "As a man SOWETH, so shall he reap."
sow -- (v.) to plant by scattering seed
sew -- (v.) to stitch together using needle and thread.
the minister promised the evacuees that their future would be brighter than their past
Now try to collect on that promise, fools.
Hmm, seems the buses were running in Texas.
Sinky speak English.. I ain't too smart..
"Victims of the hurricane were bussed to the meeting from the Houston's Astrodome, the Reliant Center and other shelters in the city."
Oh sure. They can bus people to the 'blame Bush' fest but can't bus them out of NO before the hurricane. Wonderful.
Gotta love the FBI.
Thnks, it's good to be here!
