Haven't we seen this movie before?

Hagal is fool and doesn't concern me.
However...
"Should Senator John McCain win the GOP primary..." now THAT is a concern because it means the Rep party is in nearly the same condition the Dems are in: bad. The only way I'd vote for McCain is if he was running against Hillary.

I'll be worried about the Military if either one of them becomes President.

nope...
to his credit, probably the only one with the possible charisma (at least in the past 10 years or so) was Billy Bob Clinton. He just didn't have the substance.
We all know Reagan did, but he didn't need to go outside the GOP.

The $$$, resources, and organizational talent needed to get on the ballot as a third party candidate is HUGE, and it wonn't be there for Hagel..what the GOP needs to do is win a few more Senate seats, then started taking some of these RINOS to the woodshed..especially those from RED states..

What this country needs if a viable strong conservative third party to pull Dems and Pubs right-of-center.
Until then, the difference between the two major parties is negligible.
Hagel, McCain, hClinton, Kerry, Biden, LGraham -- not a dime's worth of difference.

What conservatives are inclined to vote for Hagel? He'll appeal to the Bush-bashing anti-war left.

They are all media whores, I despise them, and if elected it is more proof that the NYT editorial page runs this country, as it has for 40 years.
To: darkwing104
Checking the wind direction, another Beano republican fa*ts in the public square, and it whaffs toward us. Please can they just stop?
To: MikeinIraq
Thats exactly what it will do- get Hillary elected. Hagel, would get even more votes than Ross Perot as he will get a TON of media support and pulloffs of (R) voters.
Yikes.

We do not need a 'spoiler' on on our own ticket. Who in the h$#@ thought or thinks Hagel speaks for this party? With him as the nominee, and I don't believe in his potential, we might as well light a match to our incumbency. It's all about power. Hagel is NOT the man to get, hold or properly use the power the GOP has struggled for so long to achieve and for which the GOP continues in its struggle to retain. It took TOOOOO long to get here Chuck! Remember???!

Pubbie field for 08 is going to turn out to be as ludicrous* as the Dem 04 field of 12 or 14 who started.
Not a real winner in the bunch: Hagel, McCain, Frist, L Graham, Gingrich, Lott**
-----
* ludicrous: (1)Broadly or extravagantly humorous; resembling farce. (2)Completely devoid of wisdom or good sense.

"This a$$hole better not do that. He'd filter off more GOP than Dems most likely"Seems that you are saying there are a lot of anti-Bush folks in the GOP. Sounds like trouble at the bend ahead.

Have no fear! There WILL be an insane left-winger who will enter the race. This will siphon votes from Hillary.
BTW, Hillary may not even get the nomination. Everyone is turning against her.
