2001: A Space Odyssey? I'm with you ... I didn't like this movie at all. I rented it a few years ago, because of all the hype and I found it pretty boring. HAL was cool though.

One thing that sets most off is the long "real time" filming. It attempts to cast apprehension but may also bring on extreme boredom.
