Where's the documented proof?  How much of a surge?  Who verified this "surge"  What is the current MAC marketshare.  There are no facts present in this article.  Pretty misleading title.

Well, if the anti-Mac crowd is correct, and there are only three Mac users in the world, then three pirate software crackers loading a stolen copy of OSX.4-86 is a 100% increase... a surge!

Well, technically, since every internet computer has a Media Access Control Address, then the marketshare of MAC is 100%

on pirate bay i see 3000 downloads so far . on mininova about 500 and those are just 2 torrent sites i just looked at. The first major torrent (not linking to it here for obvious reasons) is still in tens of thousands of downloaders after one day. By a conservative estimate say 15000 people have installed it. Its one of those things that making the rounds. At the moment Apple is about 4.5% market share. Apple's q2 2005 results show 1,070,000 macs sold. That is ajust under 12000 Mac's a day. Compare that to the number of people downloading/have downloaded this still technically complicated 'installer' . I dont know how many people would download 1.3 gigs and not run it at least once.
