A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today called on law enforcement authorities to treat an assault this morning on a Virginia Muslim woman as a hate crime.
The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) reported that a 23-year-old Muslim woman, who is 8 months pregnant and wears and Islamic head scarf, said she was out for her morning walk in Arlington, Va., when three white men in a pick-up truck began screaming anti-Muslim and racist slurs at her. According to the victim, the men shouted, "You terrorist b- tch, go back to your country. . .You n-gger b-tch." (The woman is African-American.)
The truck drove away and then returned as the woman continued on her walk. One of the men, who was wearing military-style clothing, allegedly got out of the vehicle and began shoving the woman and preventing her from moving away. During the assault, he shouted, "You terrorist b-tch. . . We're going to kick you're a- s. . . you're nothing." The other men then called the attacker back to the truck and it sped off.
"We believe these types of incidents are the direct result of the growing level of virulent anti-Muslim rhetoric Americans are exposed to on the Internet, in newspaper editorial pages and on radio talk shows," said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. "Our nation's political and religious leaders must begin to challenge Islamophobic hate-mongers."
"Supposing that this story is true (there's no evidence either way), are you actually trying to justify what these guys did?"
Nope. muslims want to be the ones to beat their women, they don't want help.
Boycotting muslim owned business, and the occassional harrassment of adult males.... acceptable in my book.

CAIR is trying to invent excuses to deny the 1st amendment right of free speech to people who speak out against their Jihad agenda i.e. Mr. Graham

See- the world knows what that headscarf stands for now. We got the message REAL CLEAR. It stands for Islam- Islam that hates everything but Islam. So now we're hating it back.
Funny how people who cheered 9-11 and every other atrocity committed by Islam are all sensitive about words! Sawing heads off doesn't affect them. Namecalling-HORRORS!
We don't define ugly and offensive the same way at all, do we?

I saw a girl yesterday with a head scarf on....wearing Levis and a short sleave shirt.... I didnt see any bomb belts so I figured she was okay.
This is wrong no matter whatever faith this woman subscribes to. If it were a Christian woman in the story and she was being harrassed by muslims. I'm sure that the people here would not be asking for the same standard of evidence before showing a modicum of human concern over the issue.
As Christians we need to lead by good example and keep our sense of right and wrong in troubled times.

Anyone who accosts a pregnant woman is a coward in my book. Whether he does it with words or something more substantial makes no difference. A coward is a coward, period.
Gosh. How sad. Here I was responding to actual comments on this very thread, and you're all offended that I should notice that some so-called "men" (are you among them?) seem to be in applauding the alleged incident.
Now, there is ample reason to doubt that this story is true. However, it does not relieve you, or anybody else, of the responsibility for recognizing that such an incident, were it to actually occur, would be wrong.
And yet you appear to find it impossible to own up to what should have been obvious. Instead, your silly response indicates to me that you have yet to achieve those traits that separate a grown man from a merely physically-mature male.
Wasn't it none other than Jane Roe and her supporters who set fire to the safe house where Roe was supposedly hiding from the militant, religious, right-wing nuts and blamed them for the deed?
"Right" is getting rid of people who want to kill us.
