Five years old watching the election? Didn't you have anything better to do back then?:) Note: I say that as someone who first became interested in politics during the '92 election at eight years old.:)

Well it was too dark to play outside.

Actually, we didn't own a TV but my uncle did. We watched because it was a groundbreaking event for us. The first time we could actually see a national convention(s) 'in person' and follow the election results minute by minute, rather than wait for the results in the paper the next day.

My parents were bipolar, one Democrat and one Republican.

We attended rally's for both parties. Still remember seeing Stephenson at a rally in Tulsa.

My mother always worked the polls at every election, and my sister and I were there with her. This probably was the chain of events that got me interested in the political system.

We watched because it was a groundbreaking event for us.
 
I remember those days! If the TV had a picture we were watching it. It was new technology much the same as when 'puters first arrived on the scene.
 
If it had a picture, we watched it!
 
Didn't matter what was on, IT WAS A MIRACLE!
