They have been saying it since the early-mid 80's but the whole first half of the post was an explanation as to why it was wrong. This isn't a "conservative" v. "moderate" or "conservative" v. "liberal" issue.

Your intial premise is flawed. Your logic is Democratic. Your pom-poms were made by the DNC. Add to that you seem to be at odds with the statement by the boss man of this website. It is interesting to note that you think evangelicals and non-evangelicals will pull away from each other. The actual reality is quite the opposite.
I find your assaults on Religion insulting and revolting. And this is coming from a non-evangelical.
