It's taken me a while to read through this - but I agree - it is creepy.
Makes me very happy that my name (and attitude) is known not only by the school administration, but most members of the school board........and my daughter doesn't start 2nd grade until September.

My wife has always insisted on keeping active with the school for each of our children, especially the last 4 adopted ones. For a long time there was not too many school days that went by that we did not communicate with someone at the school or the bus driver. They may have gotten sick of hearing from us but we didn't care. A proactive role with the children and the school is far better than letting the school think they are in control and they are part of the village that has to mold our child to their way of thinking.

I see by your profile that you smoke. I don't but my wife does. Here in Michigan the cost of a carton of cigarettes, last I looked, is about 50 bucks. The state charges 2 bucks a pack tax. I used to buy from Virginia to same the tax but the state is now trying to find out who buys on line and sends them a big tax bill. Some people have received bills from the state for over $4,500. So.......I bought from the Indians for awhile but they have raised there prices so that with shipping I have to pay about $35. a carton. Now.....we buy menthol tobacco and paper tubes at the local tobacco shop and every week I spend a couple of hours rolling her smokes. It is premium quality tobacco and with paying extra for menthol tubes, it costs us about $14 a carton. Thought I would tell you this just in case your state goes crazy with the tax the smokers.
