The Internet's Biggest Anti-Terrorism Facts Website Returns
The Anti-Terrorism Coalition (ATC) ^ | July 22, 2005 | ATC Press

Today, on July 21, 2005, the Facts About Islam (FAI) website returned after being down for over six months. The FAI was originally founded under the name of "TE" (known as "AMS" by some) in November 2002 by Former ATC President Stalfos. During the rest of 2002 and the first few months of 2003, the TE received hundreds of visitors a day (and sometimes up to 2000 visitors a day). Since its very existence, the TE was faced with attacks and bannings. Yahoo Geocities, on which the TE was hosted on, had and still has a double standard when it comes to racism. As proven by The Database of Terrorist Websites and eGroups and by the FAI's new Cyber Jihad page, Yahoo Geocities has continually banned only anti-terrorist websites (which in any way critized Islam or even Islam's teachings (and almost never Muslims), while at the same time it took no action against Islamic terrorist, Nazi, Neo-Nazi, and KKK websites and eGroups that it hosted). Thus, by July 2003, the TE had been banned over twenty times!

In April 2003, High-Ranking TE Members, including Stalfos, Benyamin B, Robert Johnson, and others founded the ATC. In August 2003, after the TE was banned for the twenty fifth time, it stayed offline for nearly two months. It later returned in the fall of 2003 under the name FAM. The FAM also suffered banning throughout 2004 and was renamed to its current name: FAI (Facts About Islam) in the summer of 2004.

The FAI was the most organized version of its predecessors: It was divided into sections. By January 11, 2005, the FAI had five sections, with several others planned for creation. Even though the FAI was also the first unbiased version and posed a question to the visitor of whether Islam was a religion of peace or a cult of terror, it suffered continuous bannings. Still, the FAI was doing very well; however, this all changed on the faithful day of January 11, 2005. On that day, Islamic terrorist hackers hacked down the FAI at Geocities and later hacked down its forward (showsit.info) completely. The ATC, DTWE, and hundreds of other websites hosted by Super Verticals were taken offline, as the host itself, Super Verticals, had been struck by these attackers. This attacks became known as the 1/11 Terrorist Attacks.

While the ATC and DTWE returned six weeks later in late February 2005, the FAI remained down largely due to the lack of time and the unwillingness of certain ATC Leaders to bring it back. However, in June 2005, the current President of the ATC, Robert Johnson and ATC Advisor and current FAI President James C announced that they would head the effort to return the FAI. Former Presidents Stalfos and Benyamin B gave their unconditional support and even offered support at times. In early July of 2005, active efforts to rebuild the FAI, make it more organized, and add several more pages began.

Today, these efforts have been completed. The FAI now has a total of eight new sections, with another section due for completion tomorrow. In addition to this, the five old sections have been slightly modified. The three new sections are on Russia, Armenia, and Cyber Jihad, and the section that will be completed tomorrow will be called Islamic Terrorism Around the World.

Another new detail about the FAI is that it will not be part of the ATC, but an independent organization like the DTWE. The FAI's new President James C has already made that clear, in fact. Robert Johnson, who participated in the effort to return the FAI, and this time permanently-with better security, organization, and more information, has also made clear that the ATC would not seek to make the FAI part of the ATC. However, both leaders agreed to open up a joint forum board for the ATC and FAI.
