...The real "Over There" is not something you want to watch while sitting in your La-Z-Boy sipping a lemonade. The real thing isn't flashy. And it sure isn't suitable for TV. It involves scenes that look like this very graphic video from Iraq. This clip shows what happens when the human body has intimate contact with a 5.56 round...

First, I am a former member of the US Armed Forces. Second, I am opposed to this war and all war. Third, this video is a hoax. These clips actually show footage of a rockchuck hunt. The source for the footage is http://www.rmvh.com/Scenes.htm you can view the segment titled "rockchuck hunt" to clearly see the lifted scenes. Maybe the author of this article should fact check before they post sensational content. Why make it any easier to discredit an important message?

Good piece. One problem: The video is not of U.S. soldiers shooting Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters with .50 caliber rifles, it's somebody in the Western American states shooting rockchucks with small-caliber high-velocity varmint rifles.
Not even a .50BMG will do to a human body what a .22-250 will do to a rockchuck.
This error detracts significantly from the impact of your piece, and you should correct it.

Oh, nice touch to change the video link and change the wording from "intimate contact with a .50 round" to "intimate contact with a 5.56 round" without making any notice of having edited the piece.
Classy, that.
Got any footage of what effect an RPG has on U.S. soldiers? That's what the now deceased gentleman was aiming before the Marines shot him first.
If you want some really graphic and gruesome footage, you should be perusing sites like Ogrish.com. They collect it.
Maybe they've got footage from that VBIED from a few days ago where the Iraqi "insurgent" blew up all of those little kids! Would that make your point?

I agree with Kevin. It is inappropriate to change a blog entry and link without comment. This is called the "down the memory hole" move. Bad form.
It was embarrassing, sure. But look, you got burned by a source. Played. Punked. Whatever. It happens to everyone, and today was just your turn. It don't mean nothing.
You should have just commented in and explained your edit, instead of trying to wipe it away. You could have gained cred, instead of losing it.

Hell, I've seen worse on the local news when a lib druggie mows down his best friends kids because he was cheated on a drug deal. I've also seen worse on the Mexican news for the same reason above.
I went to the site to check out the other comments, and it looks like they lopped off the posts right before yours. I can't read what you wrote.
I didnt comment. The last one was that Kirk guy's comment. I just read it and found it amusing.
And besides is it not the point when you kill someone in war to blow the hell out of them?
Well, the censored it regardless of who posted it. I don't even bother reading stuff like that. It gets my blood boiling.
