Over time, through my studies of political science, current events and world history, I have come to realize that which moves the world is not entirely ideas, but usually the control of currency, trading routes, resources, geography, and masses of people themselves via clever manipulation. Ideology and politics can be found, in the course of human events, to be nothing more than a marketing scheme - with guns.
In the case of Hillary Clinton, ideology is purely a means to an end. There is no doubt she holds various beliefs dear, most of which are seditious and strike at the heart of the American traditions of free speech, private property, sovereignty and common decency.
Attempting to nationalize approximately 1/7 of the American economy in the early part of the 1990s no doubt illustrates her Leninist tendencies. I don't think I need to convince this audience of her extreme leftist positions. But more dangerous than those Bolshevik leanings is her insatiable desire for power.
Her recent appearance at a National Conference of La Raza conference in Philadelphia recently is testament to the fact that she holds one principal most definitely dear -- power and its acquisition and maintenance.
Whether or not Hillary is partial to feminist ideology, Latino militancy, liberalism, or progressivism does not represent the scope of this article. My intuition tells me that she will believe and be whatever she needs to be in order to re-attain power in Washington. Unfortunately for her, and unfortunately for America, I am confused as to what nation she actually represents. Given the taxpayer money she receives as salary, and the votes she collects, I can only hope that nation she represents is the United States and the rights afforded to each and every individual that calls themselves a citizen.
In an effort to lead the party that will get the privilege of pressing its boot on the throat of the American public starting in 2008, Hillary is apparently abandoning any pretense of consistency when it comes to ideas of egalitarianism, inclusion, or racial harmony: in short, the ideals which the Democratic Party uses to sell itself to the American public.
In an attempt to cobble together a coalition of interests, rather than present herself as a Republican Lite, such as the most recent elitist loser at the top of the opposition party's ticket, Hillary has taken to aligning herself with an organization which calls itself, The National Council of La Raza.
For those of you who do not speak Spanish, it should be noted that La Raza translates into "the race" in English. "La Raza" is a broad term, which refers to those whose ancestry is indigenous to the area of Mexico (or "Aztlan"). MEChA members, a militant group supported by The National Council of La Raza in the past, refer to themselves as "La Raza" or "Raza," but the term itself is used to indicate camaraderie among those in different organizations with the same objectives.
In an abstract sense, La Raza is more or less a loose association of interest groups, which advocate returning a large portion of the American South West to "the original owners" of the territory, in order to form an autonomous nation known as Atzlan. The most visible of these groups are MEChA, The Brown Berets de Aztlan, OLA (Organization for the Liberation of Aztlan), La Raza Unida Party, and the "Nation of Aztlan" to name a few. Although the activism of these organizations vary from somewhat radical to extremely radical, they share the same objectives, the "liberation of Aztlan." Each follows the Raza manifesto "El Plan de Aztlan".
El Plan de Aztlan has some rather interesting points to it, not limited to the following key organizational principal:
Nationalism as the key to organization transcends all religious, political, class, and economic factions or boundaries. Nationalism is the common denominator that all members of La Raza can agree upon.
This manifesto advocates various action points, such as:
Self-Defense against the occupying forces of the oppressors at every school, every available man, woman, and child.
Creation of an independent local, regional, and national political party. A nation autonomous and free--culturally, socially, economically, and politically--will make its own decisions on the usage of our lands, the taxation of our goods, the utilization of our bodies for war, the determination of justice (reward and punishment), and the profit of our sweat.
When I hear any sort of political organization begin to speak of things such as "the racial question" or other similar terms, my spider sense tells me something is wrong.
It would be easy to dismiss La Raza and groups which claim the name as nothing more than extremist malcontents. Any sort of political grouping has their fair share. Republicans have their John Birchers. And Democrats have their Lyndon Larouche. Any free and democratic society will have various intellectuals, militants, and anti-social types willing to extrapolate their favored political philosophy to the maximum.
What is different with La Raza is the acceptance of this racist, anti-capitalist, separatist by mainstream political and corporate elites.
Aid and comfort is not limited to members of the US Senate.
Unfortunately, on the other side of the Mexican border, this separatist movement enjoys wide support:
"The new cabinet level agency has the wholehearted support of the Mexican Congress. On July 28, 2002, the President of the Senate, Diego Fernández de Cevallos, said to the national newspaper daily REFORMA, 'I support all of the projects that my party is undertaking for the benefit of Mexicans abroad including the network of militants in the United States.' He added that his party, the PAN, maintains close contact with Mexicans living all over the world and that the network of militants is not against the law."
Regarding this move on the part of the Mexican government, La Voz Atzlan reports:
In an extraordinary political move, President Vicente Fox has announced the formation of a cabinet level agency to govern, protect and provide services to over 20 million Mexicans now living in Aztlan, a territory encompassing most of the southwest part of the USA.
The Nation of Aztlan (NOA), first organized in the early 1990s, is a California-based Hispanic nationalist organization that claims to represent the desires and aspirations of the Hispanic community. The organization calls for the United States to return "Aztlan" territory - Aztlan being the mythic homeland of the Mexican people, or Aztecs, which according to legend is found in the American Southwest or Northern Mexico. The group's nationalist message is blurred by frequent appeals anti-Semitism, anti-Zionism, homophobia and other expressions of hatred. The Jewish ADL quotes La Voz Atzlan:
July 24, 2001 – "Powerful Jewish interests in Hollywood, television and other media promote the idea that it is ‘politically correct’ to accept the gay lifestyle…"
In all fairness, the organization which Hillary Clinton spoke to, has denounced La Voz Atzlan and its activities, such as the publication of the notoriously anti-Semitic Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion. By doing this, the NCLR has quite intelligently distanced itself from the radical fringes of the Reconquista movement, although their name could probably stand to be changed if they are truly trying to distance themselves from what is hopefully nothing more than an extremist wing of a social movement dedicated to assisting in the advancement of social and economic opportunities for Hispanics.
It is my hope that The National Council of La Raza is truly an organization dedicated to the betterment of society as a whole, rather than “the race” it says it serves. In a world of race hustlers and haters, our society doesn’t need any additional members of civil society advocating redistributions schemes, separatism, group rights, or demands for special treatment.
Hillary Clinton, normally a class warrior, seems to be aligning herself with radical nationalist elements of the Hispanic community. Hopefully, this was an oversight on her part, rather the beginning of a trend. The goals and programs espoused by The National Council of La Raza seem benevolent enough. It is radical elements of the Mexican-American community, and the name and abstract goals they advance, which requires careful monitoring and understanding.
Nationalist is a bad name for a group that calls itsef "the race".
Does this mean Hillary is off the border security bandwagon? Gee, what a surprise.
..."Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you," Sen. Clinton said. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."
That's all I need to know about her....
Isn't President Bush's Attorney General a member of the National Council of La Raza, too? Maybe I missed that part if it was already mentioned in the article.
