Interestingly, a study was done over 30 years ago -- I believe it was 1972 Democratic Convention. A sociologist noticed the very large number of foreign-made cars there, versus the American-made that were overrepresented at the Republican convention.

Maybe shows something about loyalty & value system.

Yeah, the Volvo driving liberals have been around for a while. Free vs. fair trade was not as much as issue back in '72 though. Most things were still made in the U.S.A. back then.
