That was Howard Dean. ;o)
I thought we were told perjury wasn't an impreachable offense.
Sure there are, but most of them support winning teams, with the exception Charles who is a Cubs fan.
Oh, I know. I'm just teasing. Maybe you should say "KC Royals" instead of just "Royals" ping list, though. Wouldn't want any confusion amongst this international community, donchaknow.
That's cold.
And to any New Yorkers: we swept the Yankees.
Thank God!! I thought it was just me! I considered going back and re-reading it to see if I could make heads or tails of it, but I have this theory about reading insanity: If you read it enough to understand it, it becomes a part of you. Before too long you're a raving lunatic. It's what I call the DUmmie Syndrome.
Well, I saw all of those threats, sir--it's hard to ignore one's own name when it shows up in DUmmieland--but I am greatly mystified.
If the DUmmie "William Pitt" shows up here, what am I do to with him?
Take him out to lunch? Take him out to show him the magnificent bison on the prairie? Take him horseback riding through the Nebraska Sandhills? Take him canoeing down the Niobrara River?
What am I to do with him, when he shows up?
Show him the post by benburch threatening to murder you.
Did Andy die? It sounds that way over on those threads.
I highly doubt Pitt will ever show up at the freerepublic. He'd just get banned on the spot, wouldn't he?
Yes, there has only been like two or three threads on the subject here at freerepublic. Just go to search and type in "andy."
Thanks. I read the 3rd thread that said that Andy died. From a post-operative infection? I thought Johns Hopkins was supposed to be the best? Do you think he got a staph infection from the hospital?
Keyboard, meet coffee.
I consider myself a huge 'Stros fan, and they have been tearing up the competition lately. They have fought back to over .500 after being down, what, 14 games just a month ago. But I will say this: Kaufmann Stadium is one of the most beautiful in baseball (love those fountains).
No. But what is new, and what we need to address, are the reports that Andy died, the hate-filled accusations that we deliberately intended to harm Andy and are to blame for his death, and the actual threats now directed toward us.
When it became apparent several days ago that Andy was not in fact getting better and had taken a dramatic turn for the worse and now was gravely ill, I said that we should "lay off." And I was willing to let the matter rest. But since then, DU, led by Pitt, has gone wild with hatred, with almost a mob mentality. To some extent I can understand and even excuse a confused, irrational, emotional outburst immediately after the death of a friend. That is natural. Yet I also think we could relieve them of some of this burden of hate they are carrying right now.
Frankly, if/when Pitt calms down a bit, I would like to invite him over here to a thread where we could talk this out--no satire, no invective--and he could see that to raise the same sort of questions he himself raised does not make one a "graveyard rat" or "ghoul" who deliberately tried to kill Andy. For all the poking fun I've done with Pitt over the months, I do recognize that he can think and he can analyze and he can write, in a fashion, although I disagree with his political presuppositions. Perhaps, though, he wants to hold on to his hate and is not willing to engage in a sane dialogue with a FReeper.
BTW, I should add that there are many DUers who have been calmer voices of reason in this and who rightly do not blame us for Andy's death.
Since we were so active in discussing the Andy situation for more than two months, I think we now need to bring some closure to that discussion and respond to these concerns.
The smart money's on this outcome. Besides, Pitt doesn't have the cojones to engage in a dialogue here, on this topic.
I know, just couldn't resist it.
And to any New Yorkers: we swept the Yankees.
And I cheered when it happened. Always glad to see the 'best team money can buy' get swept by a second tier team.
PS, I'm a lifelong Cardinals fan. Win or lose, and they have had some bad seasons, so I feel for you. Keep up your loyality to the Royals, thats what makes baseball great, the fans, not the players.
Well, you know that there will be a lawsuit against Johns Hopkins for the infection. Does a gay partner in Maryland or Washington state get to partake of the settlement proceeds?
