Regarding certification of Christine Gregoire as Washington State Governor

Posted on 06/08/2005 4:28:55 PM PDT by Libertarianize the GOP

To Dawn Morrell State Legislator, Puyallup

I began writing to you in early December about problems with the Governor's election. You waited more than a month until after you had certified and inaugurated Christine before condescending to respond. Your form response claimed that the legislative role in certification was merely clerical. In the hour and a half that I spent discussing this with Jim Kastama (Democrat State Senator, Puyallup) he completely disavowed any support for such a limited legislative role. No reasonable reading of the State Constitution or understanding of constitutional principles can support your contention. The reason for the legislative role in certifying election results and why the State Constitution provides for election challenges to be the responsibility of the Legislature is to allow the people through their elected Representatives to have an input into the process. The fact that a previous legislature passed a law allowing for an extremely limited judicial role in election challenges does not remove your responsibility.

Claiming only a clerical role for the legislature is unsupportable and ridiculous. Further more it is indicative of a moral cowardice and a personal desire to hide from your responsibilities. I can think of two possible reasons for your position. As a partisan hack you were looking for any excuse to advance the Party agenda while passing blame to others. Or with full knowledge as to the fraudulent nature of the results you certified you were attempting to provide plausible deniability as to your role in perpetuating a fraud on the Citizens of Washington State. Ignorance is not a reasonable explanation under the circumstances.

When asked about your certainty as to the true winner when hundreds of mystery ballots showed King County's election safeguards where completely lacking; your response was "I see nothing wrong with the election." Such a claim demonstrates a talent for mental contortions that would make Houdini proud.

I sincerely hope that you will never run for elective office again. Obviously when you first decided to run for office you had hoped to be in a position to make the big decisions affecting the future of our State. Once in office you adopted the worst traits possible for a politician. Ignoring your constituents, abusing your official position in order to advance only a narrow partisan agenda, all the while denying any responsibility for the decisions you made.

P.S. If by chance you have the chutzpa to run again in 2006 some variation of this will be published in our local papers as a reminder to the voters of your legislative district.

After a little more research I discovered more amunition. I haven't mailed the letter yet. The changes are highlighted in Bold.

I began writing to you in early December about problems with the Governor's election. You waited more than a month until after you had certified and inaugurated Christine before condescending to respond. Your form response claimed that the legislative role was merely clerical. In the hour and a half that I spent discussing this with Jim Kastama (Democrat State Senator, Puyallup) he completely disavowed any support for such a limited legislative role. The fact that a previous legislature passed a law allowing for an extremely limited judicial role in election challenges does not remove your responsibility.

Claiming only a clerical role for the Legislature is unsupportable and ridiculous. It was also directly contradicted by the legislative precedent that you choose as an example and included in your form letter. If allegations of fraud were heard 64 years ago before the legislature certified the results and inaugurated the Governor, certification could not have been interpreted as merely clerical.

When asked about your certainty as to the true winner when hundreds of mystery ballots showed King Couny's election safeguards where completely lacking; your response was "I see nothing wrong with the election." Such a claim demonstrates a talent for mental contortions that would make Houdini proud.

It is much more fun watching you talk to yourself than composing a reply.

Posting it here is part of my editing process before submitting letters to the editor, guest editorials or sending correspondence to my elected representatives. Effectively putting Dawn Morrell down without resorting to name calling is a tonic for the abuses I suffer living in a Democrat Party Machine run State.

This whole thing in Washington State stinks to high heaven. I live here and I am convinced there isn't a judge on the the entire left coast who would allow another election to be called. It really doesn't matter to the DNC machine here about anything or anybody who shows evidence of fraud. These rats are just about as slimy as slime gets, and Gregoire glotes every time she is on the TV. I doubt if over half the state will ever have a legit vote in this Gulag of Washington State.

If the irate citizenry ofWashington were to overrun the Capitol and throw your governor out on her ass, would the Washington National Guard even obey her orders to come get you? Would the Fort Lewis contingent be inclined to come to your aid?

I wish I could answer your questions, but I doubt if anything would happen. If you don't live here, there is a prop #900 which will be on the next election vote that will give voters the option to audit all the money spent in the state, from taxes and otherwise. The word is everyone wants to put their name on this to be sure it is voted on...and people are very angry about what Gregoire and the Dims pulled off. We shall see...but help from the state?? Doubt that, bigtime!!
