Of course the DUmmies know better, but they know that the Average Joe American doesn't. They're counting on it.
Good call. I was thinking the same thing. Especially since I heard on a news report a few monthes ago that the number of AIDS cases in America was declining.
I was wondering if someone would comment on that.

I may have to cancel my vacation. This is just too good!
Thats what I figured.
In a nutshell, this is whats wrong with the Democrat Party. All their hate speech and threats of violence and demonization of conservatives - from Wellstone's funeral/pep-rally to "hating Republicans and everything they stand for" to the bigoted slams of Red State "rednecks" - it comes down to demonizing their fellow citizens to a point where they feel justified in wishing us harm. Its sickening, and sadly, its all that remains of a once great party.
Karma is coming to a city near you, bitch.
If it's a home server with its own IP, it's most likely to have a private IP address (e.g., 192-net), and those are all over the place. These IP's can be duplicated in thousands of places because they are used privately, so if it's a 192-net address, it would be pretty much meaningless as a means of tracing the IP.
IP's are getting pretty scarce with the proliferation of servers. A specific, public IP would not be assigned to a home server. In a class I took last month, it was mentioned that there was talk of extending the IP address -- making it longer -- so there would be more of them available.
I'll comment on that. I have cable Internet and even though I have thought (and was told) I have a dynamic IP, I really don't. Apparently, I'd have to unplug my modem for quite a length of time and hope someone else would swoop in and pick up my IP. Also, since someone did HAVE my IP at one time, and I was concerned over it being traced, I investigated and was told by someone who has been in telecom that he would not be able to locate my home address. Now, if Scott is a high tech person, he may know some way to do this that someone with a lot of experience in the telecom industry may not be aware of. I called my ISP and they said they would not give out any info, as they require the last 4 digits of your SSN. I do believe with dial-up, the IP is dynamic. My experience with things.

LOL...channeling Donna Reed, I'll have to have my husband read this one. He's a bit older than me and grew up in the 50's when everybody knew everybody else in the neighborhood, kids played all until dusk, they were actually allowed to use their Red Ryder BB Gun, but not allowed to wear a coon skin cap to school, mom was always there with a plate of cookies when you got home from school, the house was spotless and dinner was always at the same time (but then "mom" didn't have a computer). My childhood world was pretty far from that as I was a day care kid until I was old enough to stay by myself. And while I've always stayed home with our boys, my house is hardly ever spotless (unless we're having company). So, the running joke at our house is that I'm constantly having to remind him "it's NOT a Donna Reed world anymore..."

For what it's worth, from the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), from whence all IP's originate (they assign blocks of numbers to ISP's to turn around and assign to customers)"
http://www.iana.org/ipaddress/ip-addresses.htm
Here, find out your IP;
And plug your IP in here and see if your residential address shows up;
Ah! And I see from the document that they are already using the longer IP address (I didn't know that before; just thought it was in the planning stages). IPv4 are the 4-octet addresses to which we are accustomed. IPv6 are apparently 128-bit numbers made up of hex strings. I must confess that I have not yet seen one -- at least, not one that I have recognized as such.
Is she comparing columbus to the expose of jeff gannon. good grief.
Asked to talk about those lies, Dean said: "Such as the weapons of mass destruction, which we have all known about, but the ... "
"Well, you said there were weapons of mass destruction," said Russert.
"I said I wasn't sure, but I said I thought there probably were," Dean explained. "But the thing that really bothered me the most, which the 9-11 Commission said also wasn't true, is the insinuation that the president continues to make to this day that Osama bin Laden had something to do with supporting terrorists that attacked the United States. That is false. The 9-11 Commission, chaired by a Republican, said it was false. Is it wrong to send people to war without telling them the truth. And the truth was Osama bin Laden was a very bad person who was doing terrible things, but that Iraq was never a threat to the United States. That was the truth. It was underlined by the 9-11 Commission, headed, again, by a Republican, a well-respected group of people. I don't think you send American men and women to war, first of all without properly equipping them, and secondly without telling the truth to their parents about why it is we're asking them to make that sacrifice. So those are the kinds of things that I think are very bad about the Republicans."
Russert did not ask Dean for clarification about his reference to bin Laden, whom he apparently confused with Saddam Hussein.
I agree, and thanks purrceval for the additional info.
I agree - I also think Scott was spouting nonsense.
I am not in a position to try the WhatIsMyIP script because I am reading and posting from work (while I am patching servers, so I'm not just slacking off here). Just for grins, I looked up my current IP and plugged it in to the script. The WhatIsMyIP script gave me a 156-net IP address, which is totally off the mark; not even close.
And when I plugged it into the IP field in the Domain White Pages site, it couldn't map the IP to an address, as I suspected it would not be able to do.
Now, Judith_Knows may have a different result if she is posting from home.
For some people, if they have the exact dose, and don't get the side effects or adverse effects, no, you are right. But there is also the risk for uncharacteristic sexual behavior, or mania, or both. "Low risk" but a risk none the less.
