Afghanistan Riots:(finally) revealing the Shark in the Shower Stall

Billions of American dollars, and Hundreds of American lives may be flushed down the drain because American journalists can't keep their mouths shut.

Here it is!
In a country where the majority of the populace felt gratitude for our liberation of them from a fanatical tyranny, and many were actively cooperating with our forces in action against the hard-line remnants of that ousted regime - an unsubstantiated rumour is enough to make it all blow up in our faces.

Why?
Certainly the volatile psychodynamics of the region has much to do with it, But,

The plausibility of the rumour stems mostly from the fact that it came from our own mainstream press. No excuses here about American "insensitivity" resulting in avoidable alienation of a former ruling class - as claimed in regards to the Sunnis in Iraq.

Billions of American dollars, and Hundreds of American lives may be flushed down the drain because American journalist can't keep their mouths shut.

In any earlier time and saner society those responsible for this publication would be under lock and key. As it is now,

They must be held to account in court of public opinion for this and all the other ways in which they have encouraged our enemies dismayed our friends, and endangered the lives of our service men and women.

Who will have the backbone to stand up on the floor on Congress and ask them, and their political allies, if "they have no shame?"

Sadly, the riots show what a bunch cattle moslems can be. They're like the villagers in the Frankenstien movies.

Wrong, the majority of Americans dont riot. Come to think of it, most Americans dont do a lot of low life things that are commonly accepted in sand rat land. Honor killings for starters.

GoldCountryRedneck,

Thank you for your reply.
I apologize if the link in this posting seems irregular. I hadn't noticed that when i originally posted it. In spite of that it seems to be working as it should - at least when I've tried it.

Please let me know if you still have difficulties with it and I will send it along to you.

All the best!

That's bunk. Abraham Lincoln's old saying "All of the people some of the time, some of the people all of time ..." applies to fads and fancies, but not to rioting and vigilante-ism both of which we Americans have very little tolerance for. We have them, in periods even -- but those periods are short and the rare epidemic is rapidly checked.

Although I think AntiBurr's reply to you was inaccurate - we do not have the same tendencies towards political and religious violence here that they do in the the third-world - I'd have to say that a. violence of the kind we see in these countries has much more to do with the lack of representative, rights-based, constitutional government then it does with religion (think of the religious wars in Europe prior to the 1800s), b. most Muslims, like ourselves, simply want to live and let live, but have have had their faith hi-jacked by fanatics (again think of the religious wars in Europe), and c. speaking of Muslims in such general terms does little to help us gain the trust of that majority of Muslims (who do want to live in peace), and so hurts us in the GWOT.

All the Best!

Sorry I didn't make myself clear. What I was referring to was the cattle refrence. It does seem to me that once the lead cow of the herd is turned, the majority tend to follow. The Leftist MSM is expert at "turning the lead cow" and getting the majority of the populace heated up over some non issue. True, we don't riot anymore, at least not since the anti-war "protests" of the '60's and '70's.
