I don't believe, and never have believed, for a second that
George Bush won Florida in 2000 by only 537 (or whatever it was) votes; given past voting trends in Florida going back to 1948, what with Florida slowly turning more and more Republican (with slight dips whenever a southerner headed the Democratic ticket), if all the votes in Florida in 2000 would have been honestly counted, I suspect that there was no question George Bush had carried the state, by a moderately-wide margin.
