I first learned to use the dry buttermilk, 45 years ago in a catering class at the college.
It is very good for baking. Don't think I ever attempted to drink it.
You will find the crock pot is worth its weight in gold.
I put cheap roasts in it, seasoned with Italian spices and garlic, then pour in a can of beer (on it) and a little leftover strong coffee and cook on low all day.
Of course adding potatoes, carrots, onions, celery is good.
If you buy a pound of yeast, keep in the freezer, with only a small amount kept in the refrig for daily use.
I have used yeast 10 years past date, but it was frozen all that time.
A tamale pie, is a casserole, it does not have to be spicy.
So yes, I do
prefer my own organic, homegrown veggies, fertilized with manure
that comes from my own horses' backside (I know what HE eats), not
from an illegal alien backside. I use only natural pest control because I
don't have any desire to consume toxins.

All is cool. I just see the point of vegetarians well, and have adopted some of their diet, supplemented by the occasional, juicy, homegrown steak.
I have no problem with vegans unless they spend their time putting down meat eaters.

My vegans don't put me down. The worst thing they said to me was that I was creating bad karma by fishing, with live bait especially. The comment didn't have any kind of edge or judgemental tone to it. They also don't like guns in general and don't want one in their home, but they don't judge people for having them. In fact, they want to borrow mine to shoot mistletoe out of their oak trees. I guess we kind of rub off on each other.
