I don't think the Bush brothers and the legislatures have done nothing

While I understand your point, that actions have been taken, I disagree with the premise because none of those other branches of government took action to enforce their legislation.

I no longer believe in them, or in the rule of law (not THIS state of the law!!), or in anyone's good faith intentions.

I feel as if I've been left on the field of battle by my commanders, some of whom have joined forces with the evil empire, and others of whom have simply decided on a whim to pull out of battle. They are the Scottish Lords who betrayed William Wallace.

Either way it's a betrayal.

This is a watershed event for me.

Repeating. Thank you. (Me, too.)

So what do you want Jeb Bush to do? Do you want him to be like Gov. Faubus of Arkansas, who ignored the Supreme Court's Brown v. Board of Education and sent the National Guard to enforce what he thought was right? Gov. Faubus got the 101st Airborne for his trouble.

Gov. Bush did what he could - and more than I agreed with, since I believed that Mrs. Schaivo died 15 years ago. What you ask him to do is abosultely insane - to start what would be, in reality, and armed conflict within his state, to provoke a Constitutional crisis for a matter that is well within the bounds of law, and justice for that matter.

I fail to see why this is the hill everyone wants to die on - the woman is clearly never going to recover any semblance of consciousness. Her cerebral cortex is almost entirely scar tissue and cerebralspinal fluid. Her spinal cord functions, but that's about it.
