There Is A Registered Sexual Offender Across The Street

I signed up for email alerts from our local sexual offender website several weeks ago after seeing so many stories about children being taken or killed by sexual offenders. Well....this morning I got an email notifing me that there was a registered sexual offender across the street. The website says he was charged with gross sexual conduct with a minor. We have a four year old child and I am now very uneasy living here. I can see the home this man lives in from my front window. And of course he can see ours. Our homes are directly across from one another. What would you do? The website has a message at the bottom that states that this man is to have no contact with children and that children should not be near his home/yard. Which is fine, our daughter has never been allowed to play unsupervised at anytime. We are always with her and she has never been allowed to just go to someones house without us. But there are plenty of kids who run these streets alone....without parents or supervision. Some of them are as young as two years old. This makes my stomach turn. Advice?

I guess, they should either be executed, or never released from prison.

Either one is fine with me. Both prevent a repeat which is the best deterrence.

I came back to this thread late to check the comments. What is your issue? All sexual predators should be treated as people who are innocent even after being convicted unless we ourselves have DNA kits? Or caught in the act? The legal and judicial system we have is simply in place for nothing?Therefore we should simply let convicted molesters always have the support of the community and then when we catch them we can form an opinion? Do you have children? Do you know anyone that has been convicted of this type of crime? Do you support them? It seems that your biggest concern is that convicted sexual predators have more rights than the LAW abiding citizens who want to protect their families. I dont think so.

I don't have an issue, and my biggest thing is not giving criminals more rights...I just like pushing some peoples buttons here on FR.
