Though often described as compassionate, legalized medical killing is really about a deadly double standard for people with severe disabilities, including both conditions that are labeled terminal and those that are not.

My mother in law is in the hospital and so my husband and she were reviewing her living will. My sister in law asked me whether I had one. I told her, yup, it says to keep me alive at all cost using all technology available until all my loved one's money has run out and then put me on welfare. She thought I was joking.
