As if our schools were not bad enough, a new study from Harvard says that the state of California has been misleading the public by using smoke and mirrors to make the graduation rate look less pathetic than it is.

That's because Affirmative action places minority students at a disadvantage. Many are unprepared.

My solution.
Do away with affirmative action. Make it illegal to ask race. And do away with private donations from wealthy parents of students. Do away with class rank because some schools are better and more competitive than others.

Have one standard tests that everyone takes, like the SATS.
College should be free. We are paying for it anyway! We subsidize the university systems tremendously!

This isn't socialism, because the government would not tell any one where they should attend college. Colleges should compete for students. Allow the best and the brightest to move up the ladder. No one should be held from a university because they cannot afford it. The formulas for student assistance are unfair.

Let the best and the brightest shine.
