You have probably heard Michael Schiavos attorney George Felos say things such as this about Terri Schiavos brain:
"CT scans just don't lie. When you look at that picture, you see a big black hole filled with water where her brain used to be," Felos said. "There is no cognition, no thought process, no awareness."
Now the doctor at CodeBlueBlog has found the CT scan that Felos is referring to, and what the doctor has discovered is both shocking and wonderful: Felos is wrong, the courts have been wrong. Terris brain is not damaged as much as we have been led to believe.
Update: The doctor has also looked at Terri's bone scan report, and concludes that "someone either was physically abusing Terri or they dropped/mishandled her severely."
CodeBlueBlog:
The most alarming thing about this image . . . is that there certainly is cortex left. Granted, it is severely thinned, especially for Terri's age, but I would be nonplussed if you told me that this was a 75 year old female who was somewhat senile but fully functional, and I defy a radiologist anywhere to contest that.
I HAVE SEEN MANY WALKING, TALKING, FAIRLY COHERENT PEOPLE WITH WORSE CEREBRAL/CORTICAL ATROPHY. THEREFORE, THIS IS IN NO WAY PRIMA FACIE EVIDENCE THAT TERRI SCHIAVO'S MENTAL ABILITIES OR/OR CAPABILITIES ARE COMPLETELY ERADICATED. I CANNOT BELIEVE SUCH TESTIMONY HAS BEEN GIVEN ON THE BASIS OF THIS SCAN.
The worrisome, no alarming thing, for me, was that I heard a bioethicist and several important figures on the major media describe Terri's brain as MUCH WORSE. One "expert" said that she had a "bag of water" in her head. Several experts described her as a "brain stem preparation"
These statements are wholly inaccurate. This is an atrophied brain, yes, but there is cortex remaining, and where there's cortex (?life) there's hope.
If you starve this woman to death it would be, in my professional and experienced medical opinion, the equivalent of starving to death a 75-85 year old person. I would take that to the witness stand.
Wouldnt you love to see the CodeBlueBlog doctor get the chance to take the witness stand and explain that Terri doesnt have a "bag of water" in her brain? Spread the word about what the doctor has discovered -- and if you have an in with the Schindlers or their attorneys, please direct them to the CodeBlueBlog web site, where they can contact the doctor.
I just found Terri's 1991 bone scan and I believe she was I just found Terri's 1991 bone scan and I believe she was I just found Terri's 1991 bone scan and I believe she was abused, physically.

Terri Schiavo Can Still be Rehabilitated, Nobel Prize-Nominated Doctor Says
Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Despite the contention of Terri Schiavo's estranged husband Michael and courts that have allowed him to starve her to death, a doctor nominated for the Nobel Prize says he believes medical therapies are still available that could help Terri party recover from her disabled state.
Dr. William Hammesfahr is an internationally recognized expert on cases of brain-injured patients. He has been identified in helping patients with chronic brain injuries from many causes actually leave long term disability, and return to work.
Terri Schiavo's injury, hypoxic encephalopathy, is a type of stroke that he treats every day with success.
"We, and others I know, have treated many patients worse than Terri and have seen them regain independence and dignity," Hammesfahr said.
"There are many approaches that would help Terri Schiavo," Dr. Hammesfahr explained. "I know, because I had the opportunity to personally examine her, her medical records, and her X-rays."
"It is time to help Terri, instead of just warehousing her," he added. "She would have benefited from treatment years ago, but it is not too late to start now."
This isn't the first time Hammesfahr has discussed Terri's plight.
Last year, he explained that, after examining Terri, he believed that she could eventually eat and drink on her own. He also said he believes Terri would be able to talk and have good use of one arm and one hand should be given proper rehabilitative treatment.
Hammesfahr also said he thought Terri would eventually be able to transfer herself from a wheelchair to a bed.
"The patient is not in a coma," concluded Hammesfahr said after observing Terri. "She responds to specific people best. She tries to please others by doing activities for which she gets verbal praise."
He says Terri's eyes clearly fixate on her family and she tries to follow the simple commands her parents give her.
"She looks at you, she can follow commands," Hammesfahr said.
Dr. Hammesfahr was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology in 1999.

It's ok. Judge Napolitano says she can't feel it because her brain has turned to liquid. And ED Hill said 16 specialists have examined her and all agreed there's no way out of her PVS. It's just reflexes and electrical impulses. That's why he would always go and grab the heel of the patient. That's not reflexes, I guess, that's conciousness, in the heel there. I don't understand that, but I suppose all the really smart people are in charge, so we're better off leaving it to them. After all, I'm not a doctor or a lawyer. Let the experts handle it. I'm going to have breakfast and go to work. I'm HUNGRY!
Post some articles on this thread that discredit this Physician. Why was his Nobel Prize Nomination a farce? Can you provide any evidence that he was nominated for any other reason than his work in his field?
I bet you also get the warm fuzzies when you see the freeper tag line First kill all the lawyers, then the journalists. I know that I do.

Only because I know what Shakespeare meant.
Do you have anything intelligent to add to the conversation? Adults are discussing serious issues, and you are throwing out one liners. Surely to God you are smarter than "Is it you Dan?", or do I give you too much credit?
If you responded to me in another thread, I missed it. Care to point it out? Or could you repost it in this thread?
The problem is that the only people offering detailed information are those that support life for Terri. When you get good information on one side, and "trust me" from the other, who do you generally believe?
This is not to condemn anyone - I can fully understand why someone would want to not get involved professionally in this case. But under the circumstances, someone starting from no knowledge is getting almost exclusively information that says Terri has a chance to live. The reports of the doctors chosen by the husband are suspect because of their histories of advocacy of euthanasia; it is reasonable to suspect an ulterior motive.
I just want to know why what appears to be an innocent woman is being put to death at the word of a husband with extreme conflicts of interest and professional death advocates. If there's a reasonable explanation it would put to rest the enormous frustration that comes from seeing what to all appearances is a gross miscarriage of justice.
I hate lawyers. And I know what hate means. At least I thought I did. I guess you guys are trying to redefine that word too. Just like "is".
As I thought, you are either too damn lazy to post anything, or you have nothing. Which is it?
First, it is not the word of Michael alone....the Judge relied on three witnesses to reach his conclusion about Terri's wishes.
Second, you need to read the Wolfson report. Wolfson was appointed Terri's guardian ad litem and drafted a complete report for Jeb Bush. Wolfson looked at the entire case and discussed it with medical professionals and reached the same conclusions regarding her condition as the judge.

You can't be a trial lawyer and a conservative. Nohow, noway.
Oh, BTW, are you familiar with the nobel prize nomination rules?
