"Ahhh, yes. It always come back around to "it's the Republicans' fault."
Yep. There was a Rev on FNC earlier outside of Terri's hospice. As I recall, the Brother that was on before him thanked Pres Bush and the US Senate and Congress. The Rev just blasted the FL Senate Leader Lee and said something to the effect of if Terri dies it's Lee's fault and the Republicans fault (think he may have thrown Jeb's name in there, too). Really ticked me off. He did say something about the FL House passing a bill and the Senate needed to act - that's all I heard of it.
Sorry, Jeb Bush & George Bush have so far done everything in their, legal power, to help Terri. You wan't to blame someone? Clinton appointed judges seems a good place to start.
How about blaming Terri's bulimia?
What a great post. You hit on all of it.
Ya think? Jeb Bush is a coward.
Only God can make miracles happen. As much as I respect the Bush brothers, they are not God. We would all do well to remember that.
Thanks. Unfortunately, reason is lost on far too many people.
He will now be called a Death Cultist.
That is SO UNFAIR...Jeb has tried mightily to save Terri...
That's so WRONG to say of him..

How are they "politicizing" things? A group of Republicans in the Florida Senate has refused to vote to help Terri. A Sen. King (GOP) was quoted as saying she's better off dead (he put it more poetically - something about better in heaven than in bed). So the family doesn't have a right to respond? I find it quite remarkable how liberals hate the mother, father, sister and brother of this girl. What accounts for the liberal hatred of people who are losing their daughter/sister? Michael Savage may be right: liberalism is not a mistaken outlook, it's a mental disease.
I guess you could criticize the family for directing their ire at the handful of Republicans who are condemning terri to death (as opposed to the many Democrats), but that's because the party whose platform honors life is naturally held to a higher standard - - it's the party we look to to protect life. We can't expect anything of the Democrats - many of whom have confirmed Ann Coulter's description of them as the "Evil Party"
I expect the lawless libs to act in that fashion.
What is inexcusable is for the Republican controlled executive branch to allow these judges' ruling to be enforced.
Republicans are held to a higher standard. If they weren't, we wouldn't even have the FR.
I certainly can't refute that unassailable argument.
The Bushes are doing what they can. I think they realize that in this particular case there is little they can do. But by their actions, they are sending a clear message that things need to be cleaned up so something like this doesn't happen again. Call it "strategery." I do not believe they have any intention of violating the Separation of Powers, but they are merely trying to use the bully pulpit in the most effective means. Sure it's controversial, but that's the point, to at least get the awareness out there.
Jeb Speaking out to Florida state legislator:

I have to agree. Let's hope he does not take the Pontius Pilate approach during this Easter week.
As they hold the position of the Chief Executive of the state of Florida, in this case, they are to blame. Just because the media and the Demorats blame Republicans for everything evil under the sun, does not mean that the Republicans can't be criticized for not standing up to the evil being perpetrated on Terri.
