The Schaivo case shows most vividly a profound error in the development of our government. We have allowed a branch of the government to evolve without the restraint of checks and balances. The judiciary as a class of government professionals views itself as superior to and not answerable to either the other two branches or to the people
This is a very simple matter. Terry is a devout Roman Catholic. If she indeed determined that she would not accept food and water to sustain her life then she must suffer the loss of her immortal soul as a suicide. The venerable leader of her church who speaks in the place of Christ has said this. If she does not wish to die by starvation then those who condemn her will themselves be condemned to spend eternity in hell. This is her faith and her belief. It is very simple. The injustice of our judiciary in the case of Terry is both a failure of mercy and a rejection of her religious beliefs. No amount of parsing the law escapes the terrible judgement that will come with her death by starvation.

IMPEACH JUDGE GREER
Where is the real Amos in our day? Where is the warning, the viper that waits by the way?
Yep, I am more disturbed by the moment at the boundless authority these justices seem to have.
I thought the people and their representatives were to have the authority over the King George's that rule in their courts.
Signed it.
It's time for an act of Congress to remove all security from federal courts. Something needs to be done to eliminate the judges' sense of invulnerability and power.
This is a short, well-written synopsis.
Well, if you're interested in the real truth then you're wrong on that count.
The emergency law that Congress just passed is a check and balance on the decision of the Florida state court. The Constitution gives Congress the authority to give federal courts power over state courts any time they see fit and that's exactly what Congress did here. It's a very good check and balance against the power of the Florida state court and Congress used it well.
Every time I research this case, I find something else horrifying.
from the reasons Judge Greer should be impeached #3:
"one example is Michaels statement on national television that he had Terris wedding rings melted down and made into jewelry for himself."
This is a small thing compared to the many other horrible tortures that he has put Terri through. But shocking still. This man is a monster. How is it that he has found so many people to further his insanity and barbaric behavior? If Terri was his dog, these liberals would take her away and prosecute him for animal cruelty.
***PRAYERS FOR TERRI***
How, indeed. I remember that creepy, cold sweat I felt when watching the movie "Scarface" and something like a third of the theater applauded at the most grotesque scene. Learned to walk out of movies then. Walked out of "Witches of Eastwick," too.
To this minute the Federal court has shown no willingness to question the authority of the Fl court.
It is you who are wrong, sir. You have missed the point completely. The courts have berated Congress and the President for presuming to impose upon their authority.
It seems to me that criminals condemned to death have more rights than Terry. At least they have a right to a trial by jury.
In Terry's case we have judges playing God, and a husband who seems to forgotten vows he made some time ago. "Do you promise to love and cherish her, in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, for better for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her, for so long as you both shall live? I DO"
I do not know what else President Bush can do. Perhaps, since it appears Terry is on trial here, he could grant her a pardon, just like he could do with any common criminal.
Stop being so cynical. You have to at least give them the chance to make their ruling before you can bitch about it.
This Judge Greer is a killer, plain and simple.

Look further and you'll find where he had her cats put to sleep.
This is a Rotten Stinkin Bastage.
NOTICE how quickly the DU trolls showed up on the petition after I posted this? Hi losers! We know you're out there! We know you love death! Have a nice day!
I just emailed Bush asking for an executive order to resume nutrition while this travesty is resolved. I think it only fitting to not execute the "prisoner" while the case is being reviewed.
It is not too early, IMHO, to "bitch about" this judge not reinstating Ms.
Schiavo's basic human needs, while he takes his sweet time
thumbing his nose at Congress.
