MedBlog Doc debunks and questions Terri's CT scan. Other docs comment on other problems with it. Great read!

Join the Pubbies...! Now THAT would be worth paying to see!!

The democrats would implode.

Between the reactions of Dean and Hillary the nation's capital would not have to wait for next July for the fireworks!!

Of course, in Hillary's case they would need to hide the lamps.

Can someone tell me why this judge doesn't order the feeding tube reinserted as this is sorted out?

Greers orders (in the past) included the sentence...

"I don't want anyone trying to feed that girl"

She made it 6 days last time. She was getting very weak at that time, but she could have made it a little while longer.

They expect her to live 1 to 2 weeks, but she is already showing signs of weakening.

Terri is the subject of the litigation, she is a potential witness or at least she is part of the evidence, but no in this case there is not a simple procedural requirement to keep Terri alive as a witness. Keeping her alive is the issue in the case.

They are going all around the REAL issue. The real issue RIGHT NOW is keeping Terri alive so that the GUARDIANSHIP issue can be reviewed from the beginning FIRST. Schivao and his attorney are trying to KILL the evidence. THIS IS SICK. And although I'm a strong Christian, I wish they would have left PERGATORY out of it today. The MSM IS having a great time MOCKING the Schindlers grounds. No wonder he's in no hurry. Gibbs and Company had better get their legal act together in a rather LARGE HURRY. Terri's right have been HORRENDOUSLY VIOLATED in much more important ways (to the world which is what we are dealing with), than what they brought up. The Torture, the MISUSE of a LEGAL AWARD from a Jury and a Judge for REHABILITATIOn AND ALL THE VIOLATIONS of that PLUS all the VIOLATIONS of the Florida Statutes regarding Schiavo's performance as a guardian. WHY for God's sake are they not coming at this from some common sense and provable issues??? IF they don't, Terri's dead.

If Greer didn't get impeached with his years of BLATANT ACTIVISM this other most certainly won't. Everybody will wring their hands about how hard they tried, blah, blah, while they completely missed the boat. An EXECUTIVE ORDER and taking a Disabled person in danger into PROTECTIVE Custody would have been the most cogent thing to do quite sometime ago. And guess what, IT WAS COMPLETELY LEGAL TO DO SO!!

You are just one of those hungering to get Bush rightfully removed from office if he took your advice. I am so tired of these posts advocating lawlessness.

So if the judge is going to drag his feet, what was the whole purpose of dragging Congress back from Easter break? Eyewash?

The judge is struggling with the law regarding issuing preliminary injunctions as it pertains to this case, and the constitutionality of a federal law rendering nugatory in a private bill a state court decision deciding the same facts. I would probably take a bit of time myself on that one, and I am well, not a tabula raza on some of this stuff. The judge also believes he has a bit of time to ponder without killing Terri in the interim, about which matter he asked a lot of questions. We shall see.

I believe your analysis is spot on. This judge could have thrown this case out on its ear. The judge took the time to consider both sides and hear arguments on the constitutionality of a private bill that basically would arrest the judgment of a Florida court on a matter wholly within the jurisdiction of Florida law. While many on these threads assume that all judges are derelict hacks, my experience is that, though many are biased, most try to do their job in a competent fashion. That being said, the legislation passed over the weekend is not a silver bullet.

Your 3 month old would have the instinct to eat or minimally nurse. It appears that unfortunately Terri does not have that.
