KANSAS AS AMERICA (Mega retread ZOT! alert)
The Raw Story ^ | 03/14/05 | Hannah Selinger

Posted on 03/21/2005 4:34:25 PM PST by BigFreddie

Maybe I should be writing a column called, “What’s The Matter With Kansas?” because the state is so rich with material these days. Last week, the police apprehended Kansas native Denis L. Rader as the primary suspect in the B.T.K. slayings, so named because the killer preferred to bind, torture, and kill his victims. Rader was, as most papers have acknowledged, an ordinary man. He worked normal jobs. He and his wife were always present at Church on Sundays. He led his son’s Boy Scout troops. Advertisement If the man is guilty, then this so-called normal life was just a façade. Between 1974 and 1991, the B.T.K. Killer claimed at least eight lives.

Rader has been married to the same woman since 1971 and his children, a boy, Brian, and a girl, Kerri, are now in their mid-to-late twenties. From a human perspective, it’s difficult not to sympathize with the Raders. Imagine Paula Rader, Denis L. Rader’s wife and companion of over 30 years, realizing now that she may have spent decades in the bed of a serial killer. Imagine Rader’s children, whom he taught to walk and talk and read, questioning their father’s sanity. For their sake, you almost want the guy to be innocent.

I digress. The crimes perpetrated here were brutal and horrific. People were strangled with the cords from their Venetian blinds. One woman was found hanging from the sewer pipe in her own basement. So no matter how close we come to sympathy regarding the Rader clan, the other human reaction is, obviously, disgust. In a case like this one, which has garnered so much media attention, that disgust becomes collective.

Compares the "alleged" BTK killer to our president and the Abu Ghraib hazings and mistreatment of terrorists. First, it was Hitler and the Nazis, now modern serial killers, what next?!!

Wow, it sure is a good thing that serial killers are never found to be in liberal strongholds, like say Chicago, where they would never have their photos taken with popular democrat luminaries...

(Hint, hint... That's John Wayne Gacy with former first lady Rosalyn Carter)

Or in places like Detroit, like Jeffery Dahmer, or New York City, like David Berkowitz. And let's ignore the Zodiak killer... And hundreds of others...

Nope, there's never been anything bad that's happened where the leftists rule...

OMG... Did anybody read this "reply" by some barking moonbat who calls itself "Starlight Poet?"

Totally. Bush is definately like Hitler. He and his family wears fur too which is so against humanity. I bet if the BTK lived and was from Texas Bush and the rest of the pigs in the suits and Bush would pardon him even though he totally kills like 12 people a day down there anyway. Why do the taxpayer have to pay for Bin Laden when that money could have been used to finance the seek out of BTK? My stepdad said they also found anthrax and stuff like that with BTK which is definately a huge cause for concern where I am from. He also said Bush staged the elections in Iraqi because he wanted to keep the price of gasoline low in able to afford the large motorcade of fur wearing meating eating pigs during the long and elaborate induction ceremony for Bush's next stint as Darth Vader of our weeping and crippled fawn that is our Bambi America, unfed and shivering in the dark night. I am Starlight. This site is kewl!

Wow! I don't know that I can add anything to this!

Abu Ghraib was a black eye for sure, but I just don't see the comparison.

as for this...
"Totally. Bush is definately like Hitler. He and his family wears fur too which is so against humanity."

nuff said. I can only assume this is sarcasm.

He and his family wears fur too which is so against humanity

That is one of the great unintentionally funny lines I have read in a long time.
