I listen to country music in S. Florida. The station is owned or managed by Clear Channel. I was aghast yesterday when they aired an ad for the newer show, the "L" word on Showtime. For those of you who don't know, it's a Lesbian soap opera. Okay, is it just me living in the old-fashioned era I choose to, or is this absolutely insane and disgusting? My country music station promoting a lesbian soap opera????? What is up with that? I emailed Clear Channel a letter of disgust, but have received no reply. I just wanted to vent basically.
Also, you can go to launchcast.com and program your own computer radio station to only country music if you want.
Thanks. I guess it's time for me to change some things...who would have thought? Charlie Daniels music and an ad for a Lesbian tv show????!!!
I do not understand in the slightest why you would be offended by that. Many many CW musicians are lesbian, and many many people who LISTEN to CW are lesbian. It does not mean that you have to be lesbian, or even watch the show. Now, I can find ANY advertising annoying when I want to listen to music - that I understand - but you can't object to the *content* - that is just plain silly! Clear Channel is already one of the stuffiest groups around - you'd better go buy the CD's if you want only music!
Oh sure I can and do. It's offensive. And Shocking.....but thanks for the opinion....
If *content* didn't matter then the Dixie Chicks would still be CW singers.
