MY NAME IS MAUREEN

The sharp beeping tones were again so annoying!

Reaching over to the night table she violently grabbed the cell, ripped off her sleeping mask, flipped the phone and answered coldly, "What!"

"The professor will not be able to meet with you today but would like to reschedule as soon as possible. He has had his office forward notes for your convenience and apologizes for the delay."

"Why the hell did you call me now to tell me?"

"I called your cell thinking it would be off and I could leave a message."

"Goodnight"...

"Attendant, here is a twenty, please double park this, I will be having lunch."

"No I don’t have reservations, here is my business card. Please seat me at a corner table for four."

"I am sorry, we are booked until 7:30 this evening."

"Please look at my card once again."

"I wish I could help, once again we are booked through 7:30 this evening and have very little available after that."

Proceeding forward, "Allow me the courtesy of locating someone a know."

Shuffling through the large room, avoiding waiters, and trying not to focus on the ceiling fans which seemed to be turning faster than normal she suddenly heard her name called. Looking right it was the mayor sitting alone behind a basket of bread and a dark beer.

Standing, in a friendly fashion he said hello, asked who she was with, and invited her to his table. He seated her across from himself, sat, and explained that his business partner had been tied-up and was unable to make lunch.

They ordered, discussed a variety of topics, all the while disregarding politics. Each was very friendly, joking, and personal at times.

"These fans are making me cold."

"Here, take my jacket."

They were finishing yet she felt the need to go outside in the sun to warm up when her cell rang.

Reaching over to the night table she violently grabbed the cell...

Why is Maureen Dowd's lonely life breaking news?

then she noticed the caller ID. It was him. It was him. After all these months, he was calling her. He must be in trouble again. That's the only reason he would call.

Should she answer? Should she ignore him, as he had ignored her for so long?

The ceiling fan seemed to be turning faster than normal. I thought...

Who's peeking out from under a stairway
Calling a name that's lighter than air
Who's bending down to give me a rainbow
Everyone knows it's Windy

Who's tripping down the streets of the city
Smiling at everybody she sees
Who's reaching out to capture a moment
Everyone knows it's Windy

And Windy has stormy eyes
That flash at the sound of lies
And Windy has wings to fly
Above the clouds, above the clouds

Who's tripping down the streets of the city
Smiling at everybody she sees
Who's reaching out to capture a moment
Everyone knows it's Windy

I answered the phone, "Who is it?"

It was Windy.

It was kinda light hearted and fun, but needed work. The bunny/pancake thing may have helped. :)

The call came from the office where someone was working, thus too early becomes a personal definition. No lamp was used to locate the cell. Also, the sleeping mask was worn to block the morning light.

How many times has the right attempted to compromise? What were immediate political/media reactions when education reform was passed? What are they today?

Although fiction, this began in semi-reality, progressed to the illusion of liberal/media harmonizing, and ended in leftist awaking to dissatisfaction, the real world of liberal spin and never ending demand.

The fans represent spin, the inability to recognize facts, and ultimately preventing modifications.

The title reflects an old game show, the name I don’t recall, which began with three individuals stating their name as the same. My plan was a date during a dream, and as a male I needed a recognizable available female name, this one didn't matter in and of itself for most importantly it represented a party. The liberal is welcomed by the right yet the liberal cannot escape the pull of the spin.

I attempted something new, symbolism to provoke thought.
