...now that was funny!
After reading that I think I'll take a 'movement liberal'.
Priceless!
Sounds like Pitt(s) has an alligator mouth and a hummingbird brain
Subs just babysit for the most part and do no real teaching.
Can I put in my application for chancellor of the fourth american "empire"?
If anybody runs into Jeff Kleinman of the Graybill and English Literary Agency, give him my regards. And for you lurking publishers and literary agents, I would like to remind you that I was once upon a time the most widely read American humor writer in the old Soviet Union back when I was a "Commie Writer" for Krokodil Magazine. Check out the story about that experience:
Ah, Congresscritter Billybob finally unlocks the secret of the Pittster:
He's a bullsh*t artist.
Behind the torrent of newly coined phrases designed to recall the Third Reich are the same old same old doctrines of dialectical materialism without the scholarship of Marx. One passage is truly revealing:
The truth of the radical Right's power over the past 20-some years is that it has very little order, and that which it takes has alarmingly medieval origins. The Cold War was, to them, a last run at the Asian Menace of Huns and Mongols and Avars and Turks. The 'War on Terror' is just a last run at the problems that led to Tours And Poitiers and the Crusades. The 'War on Drugs' is another argument with hostile Indian tribes. And somewhere between all of that, there's some foggy ideal of England circa 1600 as a way to run the United States in perpetuity. It's the Middle Ages being given one last run. One last evasion of Modernity
Understand that Pitt's statement is a revelation of where much of the Democratic Party stands in the struggle with Islamic Fascism, i.e.; there is no war, it's all our fault, we are merely using war to postpone the advance into the broad, sunlit uplands of Socialist construction. Bin Laden's movement doesn't really exist as a danger to the United States!. We created him.
I can get this kind of crap from Janeane Garafolo. At least there's no pretense to intellectual authority there.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
I suggest people click on your link, P.J., about writing for the old Soviet "humor" magazine Krokodil. That is hilarious, and well worth reading.
In fact, I am going to add it to the list of links to the DUmmie FUnnies, because people should read it, so as to get a better grasp on the author of a soon-to-be best-selling book.
Thanx. Right now I am working on "PJ's Theory of Information Filtration." It is how people filter out information and why those filters are sometimes dropped. In the case of Krokodil in Russia, when I initially sent those stories in, the filters were down for me so they were at least open to looking at the missive I sent them. I will explain in a multi-part posting on this topic why their filters were down. Oh, and my theory also incorporates YOU personally. It has to do with WHY you became a GOP delegate to the 1972 convention. And, finally, I am researching this topic because it might be EXTREMELY helpful in going around the informational filters put up by literary agents and book publishers so it might help get the DUFUs published as a book.
Too bad the guy who wrote "Confederacy of Dunces" didn't know about Information Filtration because he would probably have lived to see the success of his book.
