Few DUFUs are FUnnier than the ones such as this about the bizarre DUmmie psyche. In fact I think this edition of the DUmmie FUnnies is so FUnnie that it might shock and awe Jeff Kleinman of the Graybill and English literary agency into offering to represnt me in my book project. No problem, Jeff, just offer me that lucrative book deal at:
PJ-Comix.
Let me know if you want to get on board the most POPULAR PING List on the FR (as stated in Wikipedia.Com).

This fool reeks so badly of insecurity and self-hatred, I almost feel bad for him. Almost. A real man doesn't need to have complete strangers prop up his floundering ego so he can feel sufficiently self-assured simply to go on a date.

However, I have lived a lot of life and have a lot of life experiences for someone my age.... I take that to mean she is/was "horizontally accessible"....

Okay PJ, pathetic maybe, but not all that funny.
But that's probably just my taste. I tend to fall back on general guy-ness: It's probably all a con to get chicks. Who else would troll on DU for sensitivity, and where else would he find suckers to fall for it? What we don't see are the follow-up emails asking for dates.
Personally, I think its brilliant and I may give it a try. I bet the guy's a world class swordsman.

So why in the hell should she want to spend time with me, who is non-rich, non-macho, a bit on the quiet and shy side?Let's be fair here - this DUer shows some remarkable self awareness here. Kudos!
Also - there is an answer to his question: she has very low self esteem. ;)

A real man doesn't need to have complete strangers prop up his floundering ego so he can feel sufficiently self-assured simply to go on a date. What date? steve2470 said the date is only probable. In reality it is just barely possible. Most likely the woman fed him that whole maybe date routine possibly next weekend to keep him from phone stalking her.

I wonder if he'd still think his date was "drop dead gorgeous" if he found out she was a "repuke"

They've BOTH been married three times, huh?
Wow. Let me ponder that one...
Still pondering...
Nah, she'd better run now and run fast. He still sounds too needy after three crashes to even be considering a fourth.

Good lord! They're even pathetic in the universal arena of dating. Aren't there any normal people at DU? I've yet to see evidence of any (other than the Lousy FReeper Trolls). I never gushed so much intimate and detailed info with my sisters, much less thousands of strangers in a very public venue. I don't think this guy's problem is so much being "shy" as insecure, as many, many, many other DUmmies seem to be. (Can't handle real life? See a therapist and get a few prescriptions. Better yet, let the corner supplier help you cope with your self-imposed world of hate and paranoia.)
Yeah, and good luck on your second date, there, Steve-o.

Quite true. It's been a few years since I married the confident, sexy, courageous, manly Sgt. AQGeiger, so I forgot about blowing men off.
