I pick up today's WaPo out of the snow, and this was the front page image:

I don't think that anyone, anywhere, could ask for better imagery. Just look at the placement it got. Even more interesting, there is not a story about the Secretary of State on the front page.

Applauding soldiers, the American flag, stylish in all black - those boots are made for walking, no doubt. I know the editorial board over at the Post loved General Powell, but he never got anything like this.

Condi, despite her brilliance, cannot beat Hillary in '08. At least 20% of Americans will never vote for a woman (I don't agree with them, but the poll results are clear from yesterday). These are not liberal Democrats who will not vote for a woman. The GOP cannot win if their nominee loses 20% of the voters because it nominates a woman. If the GOP nominates Condi in '08, Hillary will be President. That's the political reality.

Gotta love Condi. She's brilliant and poised, and is far more experienced than Hillary! at actually running the country. She will have been working in this administration as the President's right hand, for 8 years, during a war, by the time the next election comes around. Hillary!, OTOH, was in the White House for 8 years but was not elected and had no official purpose, other than supporting her lying, cheating, raping, murduring, traitorous so-called husband. (Two peas in a pod.)

I absolutely agree with your assessment. I am also not sure if 20% (or more) of Americans are ready to vote for a black-- male or female-- for presidente. Condi is way ahead of her time. She is still young, though-- imagine what a powerhouse she will be in 10 years! THAT may be her time....

though I wonder what will be left of the US in 10 years if the Witch becomes president....
